Bathroom & kitchen resealing in Albury, Oxfordshire
We cover Albury for bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
What happens on the day
We work through the job in order: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. Typically it takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. For a village or hamlet like Albury, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Tell us if parking is tricky

Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Albury
Mr Mastic has more than 20 years’ experience of sealant work, and our applicators reseal bathrooms and kitchens across Albury. We are ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and every job carries our 12-month guarantee. We are often asked to deal with sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away and a reseal done over the top of the old bead, across baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms.
In a village or hamlet like Albury, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, whatever its size.

How to look after the new joints
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
A split bead lets water through every time the bath or shower is used. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.

What bathroom resealing looks like in Albury
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
In and around Albury, as anywhere, good bathroom resealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint. If you live in an older home near Church of St Helen, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.

Albury questions
Is Albury within the area you cover?
Yes. Albury is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Is there a guarantee on bathroom resealing in Albury?
All our work, in Albury and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
How much does bathroom resealing cost in Albury?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. To get one, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a short description of the job.
Where do you work from?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Is it messy?
We keep the work tidy. Nearby surfaces are protected, and we clear up when we are done.
How long will the resealing take?
Allow two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. You will know how long to expect before work begins.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. Sealing over the old bead is the commonest cause of early failure, and it’s something we never do.
Can you reseal around my kitchen sink and worktop?
Yes, often alongside a bathroom. Next to the sink we use a food-safe product where it’s needed.
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- How much there is to do
- Whether the work is at height
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.
What to tell us for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- A few photos by email, if you can
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
Every job is quoted individually, so start by telling us what you need. Simply ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and describe the job and send pictures if you have them.
Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Upstands and back edges are cut out, cleaned of grease and resealed, because cooking grease stops sealant bonding. The extra cleaning is what makes the bead last.
Wet rooms
Wet room floors move slightly as they’re used, so the internal corners need silicone rather than grout. Cracked grout in a corner can be cut out and replaced with silicone.
Why deal with it now?
Most of the work in a good reseal happens before any silicone goes on: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Without that preparation, the new bead won’t last. In a small place like Albury, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
The cost reflects the work involved, not guesswork. That is why we ask about the job first and agree the price before starting.
