About our regrouting in World's End
If you’ve been scrubbing grout that won’t come clean, the stain is often in the grout itself. Replacing it is the lasting answer, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. Common call-outs are for stained grout that cleaning won’t shift and grout that’s cracking and breaking up, on shower walls, wet rooms and tiled floors.
In a village or hamlet like World's End, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee, so you are covered after we’ve gone.

FAQs for World's End
Is World's End in your area for regrouting?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and World's End is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job.
Is regrouting in World's End guaranteed?
Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, wherever it is. We’re also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Is resealing included with regrouting?
Yes, in most cases. New grout beside old sealant wouldn’t look right and wouldn’t keep water out.
How long does regrouting take?
Typically it takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Larger jobs naturally take longer.
What if some of my tiles are loose?
Regrouting will not fix loose tiles. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting, so you can decide what to do.
Which products do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference, and we will tell you what we’re using.
Should I try DIY first?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. If it doesn’t work out, we can redo it.
Can tenants book the work?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
How it works
When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first, so you know exactly what we are doing. We protect the surfaces around the joints before we start. Most jobs take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Somewhere as small as World's End, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any tricky access
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Keep children and pets away from the work area

Surface by surface
Shower walls
Shower walls are the most common area we regrout. Cracked or missing grout here lets water behind the tiles.
Bathroom wall tiles
Grout by the basin and bath tends to mark first. We can regroute just those areas or the whole wall.
World's End homes and their sealant
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Managing a site like Beedon C.E. (Controlled) Primary School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

Leave it or put it right?
If tiles are loose, regrouting alone isn’t the answer. We will tell you before work begins so you know what’s involved. On sound tiles, regrouting avoids the upheaval of a retile. In a small place like World's End, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting. If you’re unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

Keeping the joints in good condition
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Wipe water off the walls when you are done
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
- Look at the sealant in the corners now and then
If a tile starts to feel loose, get it looked at early. A loose tile cracks the grout around it and open a path for water.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Every shower pushes more water into the gaps and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
How we quote for regrouting
We don’t publish a price list, because jobs vary so much. The quote depends on:
- The number of rooms or windows
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Mould in or behind the old joints
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference.
Helping us quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Roughly how big the job is
- What’s wrong with the joints now
For a quote, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. We’ll give you a clear quote before any work starts.
When to call us in World's End
A poor original job is a common cause. If it was mixed too wet or not pressed in firmly tends to wash out early.
People generally contact us after spotting something like this:
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
In the older streets around Church of St Nicholas, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
What to look for in a quote
- How long to leave it before use
- What preparation is included
- How long the guarantee is
- Whether VAT is included
