Winsor Regrouting
We cover Winsor for raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
What sealant work cannot fix
We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- Cracked or broken tiles
- Water coming from plumbing rather than grout
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will say what we think.
What we seal
- Bathroom floors
- Wet rooms

About our regrouting in Winsor
If you’ve been scrubbing grout that will not come clean, the stain is often in the grout itself. New grout is the fix that lasts, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. If you have grout in a colour the owner wants to change and grout in corners that has cracked, we can help, on tiled floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms alike.
Around Winsor, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. The work is the same as anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

DIY versus a professional finish
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
Regrouting around Winsor
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you look after a building such as Copythorne CofE Infant School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. If you let a flat or house near Ashurst New Forest station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.
Winsor is about 2 miles west of Totton, in Hampshire. Whether you’re in the middle of Winsor or further out, we cover regrouting for every kind of property, from flats and houses to offices and hotels. Winsor is one of 683 places in Hampshire where we work for regrouting. Southampton is on our list too, about 7 miles from Winsor.
We cover every part of the SO40 postcode area for regrouting. If you need regrouting at a property on Winsor Road, Winsor Lane and Pound Lane or a nearby road, we can help. Other places close to Winsor include Copythorne (1 mile north-west), Bartley (1 mile south-west), Netley Marsh (1 mile south-east), Cadnam (1 mile west) and Newbridge (1 mile north-west). Further out, we also cover Winchester (14 miles north-east), Eastleigh (9 miles east), Chandler's Ford (8 miles north-east), Hedge End (11 miles east), Lymington (12 miles south) and Romsey (6 miles north-east).
Around Winsor
Locally, jobs take us to homes and businesses close to Compass Inn. The closest station to Winsor is Ashurst New Forest station, roughly 2.7 miles south-east of the centre. Nearby you’ll also find Tatchbury Mount Hospital (1 mile east) and Eling Experience (2.7 miles east). The countryside around Winsor includes Copythorne Common.
Leave it or put it right?
With regrouting, your tiles stay where they are. Retiling is a much bigger job: stripping, making good, new tiles and new grout, and the room is out of use for longer. When the tiles are fine, it’s the sensible first step. In a small place like Winsor, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, any mould to treat, and whether the work is at height. Your quote takes all of that into account.

What we do, step by step
You don’t need to clear the whole room or building, only the area right around the joints. Everything nearby is protected, and the job takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room in most cases. Somewhere as small as Winsor, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- Dust is cleared from every joint.
- The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
- Internal corners and edges are resealed.
How to prepare
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Mention any tricky access
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on

How to look after the new joints
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Do not use strong acidic cleaners on grout
- Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
Leave the area unused for as long as we advise, so it cures fully. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and let the room air.
Cracked grout does not stay cracked for long. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away, so regrouting early can save a retile.
When to call us in Winsor
Hard water and soap leave a film on grout and stick to it. The grout beneath can stain and weaken, and at that point, new grout is the better answer.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
- Old grout in a dated colour
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

How we quote for regrouting
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- Which sealant suits the joint
- The size of the job
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Working hours on commercial sites
Doing several joints on one visit is usually more efficient than separate visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.
Helping us quote
When you contact us, it’s useful to know:
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- What’s wrong with the joints now
A good description makes for an accurate quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints.
Questions from Winsor
Will you come out to Winsor?
Yes. Winsor is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Ashurst New Forest station?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Will there be a smell?
Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures.
Should I try DIY first?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. If it doesn’t work out, we can redo it.
Do I need to be at home?
We need access to the joints, so we will agree that with you when we book. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old sealant, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. We remove it all first.
How long will you be here?
Most jobs take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, including the preparation. Your quote will say how long we expect yours to take.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned.
