Well Head Regrouting
We cover Well Head for raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly.
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines

- Grout washed out of a shower
About our regrouting in Well Head
We work across Well Head, regrouting bathrooms, showers and kitchens. The old grout is raked out, the joints cleaned and new grout laid, and we finish by resealing the edges. If you have dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor and grout stained black or orange that won’t clean, we can put it right.
Being in a small place like Well Head makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Your job is guaranteed for a year, as with all our work.

What happens if it’s left?
New grout smeared over the old doesn’t bond well. It sits thinly on top and soon flakes away, taking any repair with it. Raking out to a consistent depth gives the new grout something to hold. Older cottages and farmhouses around Well Head can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Every job is a little different, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference, and we will explain the quote if you ask.

What affects the quote in Well Head
There’s no set price list. The quote depends on:
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- Which sealant suits the joint
Combining jobs into one visit is usually more efficient than separate visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.
What we need to know
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Try to tell us:
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- The address or postcode of the job
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
Want a quote for regrouting? Please ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details. We will explain what we’d do and give you a clear quote before work begins.
Keeping the joints in good condition
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
- Use gentle cleaners on grout
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
- Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it can harden properly. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and keep the room ventilated.
Grout that stays dark after cleaning is starting to fail. At this point it’s a simple regrout while the tiles are still sound.
Common problems we fix in Well Head
Poor ventilation keeps grout damp, giving mould a place to grow. Black marks that come back after cleaning are often in the grout itself.
Look out for these signs:
- Grout that’s cracking and breaking up
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
Letting a property close to Adisham station? Then stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Honest limits
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:
- A leaking shower valve or waste
- Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
- Damaged tiles that need replacing
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly.

How the visit works
Most of a good job is in the preparation, and we do not rush it. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. All told, the work takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. In a small place like Well Head, access is usually the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
How to prepare
- Move anything stored near the joints
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Tell us if parking is tricky

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you live in an older home near St Mary's Church, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Schools such as Wingham Primary School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

FAQs for Well Head
I let a flat near Adisham station. Can you help?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before work begins.
Will you come out to Well Head?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
Loose or hollow tiles are a sign of a problem behind them. Regrouting alone is not the answer, and we will tell you before work begins.
What does regrouting cost?
We don’t publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: its size, the old material, access and the product needed. You will get a clear quote before we start.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Commercial and hotel work is a large part of what we do. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
Can I do it myself?
Some simple jobs can be done by a careful DIYer. The usual mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using too much.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No, it will not last. It can look neat for a few weeks, but the new layer lifts away from the old one. The old sealant has to come out completely.
Where are you based?
We’re a Crawley-based firm. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
