South Stoke Regrouting
Problem with your tiled areas in South Stoke? We remove the old material, prepare the joints and seal them properly, with a one-year guarantee.
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
Regrouting for homes and businesses in South Stoke
Grout is the filler between your tiles, while sealant goes where tiles meet a bath, tray or worktop. Once grout starts to crack or wash away, water can get in behind the tiles. We rake it out and replace it and renew the silicone at the edges. We work on tiled floors, kitchen splashbacks and bathroom floors, and common reasons people get in touch are greasy, stained grout behind the hob and a grout colour that no longer suits the room.
Homes around South Stoke are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Should I try it myself first?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Do you need regrouting in South Stoke?
Strong cleaning products and hard scrubbing slowly erode grout. Some bleaches and acid descalers break grout down over time, leaving the joints sunken and rough.
The most common problems we see are:
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
Schools such as South Stoke Primary School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.
What your quote should include
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
- Which colour the sealant will be
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- When the joint can take water or movement
Aftercare tips
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Don’t use strong acidic cleaners on grout
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Stick to mild products for cleaning grout
- Keep the fan on after showering
A squeegee or cloth over the tiles after use keeps water off the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window so the grout dries between uses.
Fixing grout early is a small job. Left for a few years, they can become a leak so it’s worth dealing with as soon as you spot it.
Leave it or put it right?
Cracked grout lets water behind the tiles. Left alone, that water can loosen tiles or damage the wall, and then you’re looking at retiling. Sorting it early keeps the job simple. Around South Stoke, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Leaving a failed joint generally makes the job bigger, not smaller, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re unsure, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.

What else we do in South Stoke
What regrouting looks like in South Stoke
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Andrew, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Rented homes near Cholsey station change hands often, and stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.
South Stoke is about 6 miles south-east of Didcot, in Oxfordshire. Wherever you are in the RG8 postcode area, our applicators can take on regrouting. Our Oxfordshire coverage runs to 443 places, and South Stoke is one of them. Our Reading page covers work nearby, about 10 miles away.
Every address in RG8 is within our area for regrouting, from the main roads to the quietest streets. FAQs for South Stoke
Is South Stoke within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
I let a flat near Cholsey station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Will regrouting fix loose tiles?
New grout can’t hold loose tiles in place. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting so you know where you stand.
Do the sealants smell?
Some sealants have a smell while they cure. Ventilation helps.
Can you regrout just the shower?
Yes. A lot of our jobs are only the shower, or the area where the grout has gone.
How do I get a quote for regrouting in South Stoke?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. To get one, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us what needs doing and where.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. Hotels, offices and other businesses use us.
Which products do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
What affects the quote in South Stoke
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We look at:
- Any mould that needs treating
- Any working-time requirements on site
- The amount of work
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will talk you through it.
What we need to know
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:
- The type of property
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- The rough size of the job
- How we’d reach the joints
Asking for a quote is easy: let us know what needs doing and where. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand, and we will come back to you with a quote.
What we do, step by step
On the day, we look over the joints with you first, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Surfaces next to the work are protected before any work starts. The work normally takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Somewhere as small as South Stoke, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
