Slamannan Regrouting
Regrouting for Slamannan, by sealant specialists with 20+ years’ experience. Rated 4.9 on Google from 180+ five-star reviews.

- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
How we handle regrouting in Slamannan
Regrouting is normally paired with resealing. Grout is for the joints between tiles, but internal corners and edges flex, so they need flexible silicone instead. Doing both at once leaves the whole area sound. We work on wet rooms, bathroom floors and bathroom wall tiles, and common reasons people get in touch are grout in corners that has cracked and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles.
In and around a place like Slamannan, homes range from older stone-built properties to newer houses. Where a building moves, cracked grout and split sealant are generally the first signs.

Slamannan questions
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Caldercruix station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Do you cover smaller places like Slamannan?
Yes, we do. We work across all of Scotland, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
What if some of my tiles are loose?
New grout cannot hold loose tiles in place. We check the tiles first and tell you if any are loose or hollow so you know where you stand.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages.
Is it worth trying it myself?
For a simple, easy-to-reach joint, a careful DIYer can do a reasonable job. Most DIY failures come from sealing over old material, wet joints or too much sealant.
Is the work guaranteed?
Our one-year guarantee applies to all our work. We are also fully insured.
Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?
Yes, plenty of people choose to. A darker grout hides marks better and lighter grout gives a fresher look.
Where is Mr Mastic based?
We’re based in Crawley, West Sussex, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
How to look after the new joints
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
- Look at the sealant in the corners now and then
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
Use a gentle cleaner on the grout and a soft brush. Keep harsh bleach and acid limescale removers away from it, as they can break grout down.
Leaving failed grout can mean tiles come loose. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it, so it’s worth acting early.
DIY versus a professional finish
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Do you need regrouting in Slamannan?
Strong cleaning products and hard scrubbing slowly erode grout. Some bleaches and acid descalers break grout down over time, leaving the joints sunken and rough.
The most common problems we see are:
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- Grout that makes sound tiles look old
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
- Grout in corners that has cracked
In and around Slamannan, as anywhere, good regrouting starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Slamannan
Scottish Water supplies are generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black. In Scotland, private landlords have to meet the Repairing Standard, which covers keeping fixtures and fittings in a reasonable state of repair. Failed sealant around a bath or shower is worth sorting between tenancies.
Rented homes near Caldercruix station change hands often, and a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.
