Regrouting in Roser's Cross
If you’ve been scrubbing grout that won’t come clean, the stain is often in the grout itself. Replacing it is the lasting answer, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. If you have shower grout that has worn away and old grout in a dated colour, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Being in a small place like Roser's Cross makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
You’re covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us.

What affects the cost of regrouting
Call for a quick quote. The main things that affect it are:
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- When we can work, for business premises
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: the amount of work, the old material and the access. The price is agreed before we begin.
What to tell us for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- The rough size of the job
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Stick to mild products for cleaning grout
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Keep the fan on after showering
Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it can harden properly. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and let the room air.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
Should I try it myself first?
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.
Roser's Cross homes and their sealant
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Homes close to The Parish Church of All Saints include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Rented homes near Buxted station change hands often, and clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

Why it’s worth doing now in Roser's Cross
It’s tempting to fill a few cracks yourself, but the patches often don’t match, and the old grout keeps failing around them. Doing the full area gives you one colour and sound joints throughout. Older cottages and farmhouses around Roser's Cross can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
What it costs depends on the amount of work, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. You will have a clear quote before any work starts.
Why Roser's Cross clients choose us
- Neat joints and a tidy finish
- Anti-fungal silicone where joints get wet

How it works
At the end, we look at the finished work together. The work normally takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, depending on how much there is to do. Somewhere like Roser's Cross needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- The corners and edges get new silicone, because grout there would crack.
Before we arrive
- Clear items away from the joints we are working on
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Advice
When it is not the sealant
New sealant can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Movement in a stud wall or floor
If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think.

Roser's Cross: your questions answered
Is Roser's Cross in your area for regrouting?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Roser's Cross is part of that. Just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.
Is Roser's Cross within the area you cover?
Yes. Roser's Cross is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We’re approved under the ARBOMaster scheme, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We’ve worked for hotels, offices and other businesses.
Do you regrout part of a bathroom, like the shower?
Yes, we often do. The shower usually fails first, so many people regrout just that part.
Is it messy?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes, we can. More than one area can go on one quote.
Will regrouting fix loose tiles?
Regrouting won’t fix loose tiles. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting, so you can decide what to do.
Different surfaces, different methods
Bathroom floors
Cracked floor grout can point to movement underneath. We check the tiles before regrouting.
Wet rooms
Both the grout and the silicone in a wet room matter. We replace the grout and reseal the edges.
