Regrouting in Ringmer
We work across Ringmer, regrouting bathrooms, showers and kitchens. The old grout is raked out, the joints cleaned and new grout laid, finished with new silicone at the edges. We work on bathroom floors, tiled floors and bathroom wall tiles, and people most often call us about corners filled with grout instead of silicone and grout stained black or orange that won’t clean.
Homes around Ringmer range from older cottages to more recent houses. Older homes can move a little with the seasons, which is hard on tired sealant and rigid grout.
All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

Bathroom wall tiles
We can regroute all the walls in a bathroom, depending on size. It’s a good time to change the grout colour.
Wet rooms
In a wet room, the whole floor gets wet, so good grout is important. We check for loose tiles before starting.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Ringmer
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you let a flat or house near Glynde station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. Schools such as Ringmer Primary and Nursery School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. If you live in an older home near The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Common questions in Ringmer
Do you cover Ringmer for regrouting?
Yes, Ringmer is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job.
Is Ringmer within the area you cover?
Yes, Ringmer is covered. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
What information do you need?
A short description and the location, with pictures by email if possible. We will ask anything else we need to know.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No, and we never do. It may look fine at first, but the new bead soon lifts. The old sealant has to come out completely.
What sealant do you use?
The product depends on the job: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status, and we are fully insured.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
New grout cannot hold loose tiles in place. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting so you know where you stand.

Quotes for regrouting in Ringmer
There’s no set price list. What we look at:
- When we can work, for business premises
- Whether the work is at height
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs. Call for a quick quote and we will go through it with you.
What to tell us for a quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Where the property is
It all starts with a short chat. Tell us what’s wrong, where it is and how much there is, and we will talk you through what we’d do. Whenever you are ready, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- Cracked or broken tiles
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think before booking.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance.
If you manage several properties in or around Ringmer, jobs at different addresses can go on one quote. Send us the addresses and the work at each.
The process
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you and tell you how long to leave it. The visit itself usually takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, depending on the amount of work. For a job in Ringmer, we agree the time, the access and parking before the day. If the work is outside, the weather plays a part, as sealant needs a dry surface.
- First, we check for loose or hollow tiles and point out any we find.
- Old grout is raked out to a consistent depth without chipping the tiles.
- Dust and debris are vacuumed out of every joint.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.
How to prepare
- Move anything stored near the joints
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Tell us about any water getting in
How to get a quote
Need a quote? Please phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the job. You will know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.

How to look after the new joints
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Wipe water off the walls when you’re done
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Use gentle cleaners on grout
If a tile starts to feel loose, get it looked at early. A loose tile cracks the grout around it and open a path for water.
Cracked grout doesn’t stay cracked for long. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away and early regrouting can avoid a much bigger job.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
