Regrouting in Radwinter
Raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors for Radwinter, backed by a one-year guarantee. Ask us for a quote.
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Grout in corners that has cracked
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
Regrouting in Radwinter, done properly
We take the old grout out to a consistent depth, taking care not to chip the tile edges. The joints are then vacuumed, regrouted and cleaned off, with silicone renewed in the corners. If you have grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned and grout that makes sound tiles look old, we can help, whatever the surface.
Somewhere as small as Radwinter, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

What affects the quote in Radwinter
The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- Whether the work is at height
- The number and length of the joints
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Mould in or behind the old joints
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You’ll know the price before we begin.
Asking for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Please mention:
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Where the property is
- The type of property
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
There’s no standard price list, because every job is different. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Your questions about regrouting in Radwinter
Can you do regrouting in Radwinter?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Radwinter is part of that. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job.
Is Radwinter within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes, we can. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we’re part of it.
Can you regrout just the shower?
Yes, we often do. Shower grout tends to go before the rest, so it’s often the only area that needs doing.
Where do you work from?
Our base is in Crawley, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No. Fresh sealant does not stick to old sealant, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. It all has to come out first.
What guarantee comes with the work?
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job.
Radwinter homes and their sealant
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Homes close to Church of St Mary the Virgin include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Radwinter Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

DIY versus a professional finish
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
Some jobs are best left to a professional: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
How to look after the new joints
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
Clean the grout with a mild bathroom cleaner with a soft brush. Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers because they wear grout away.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
What happens on the day
At the end, we look at the finished work together and tell you how long to leave it. The work normally takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, depending on how much there is to do. In a small place like Radwinter, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- Dust is cleared from every joint.
- We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
- We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Move anything stored near the joints
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
