Regrouting for homes and businesses in Park Town

Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, others just the shower. Whatever the size, the method stays the same. We work on wet rooms, bathroom wall tiles and bathroom floors, and common reasons people get in touch are floor grout that won’t come clean and grout washed out of a shower.

Around Park Town, you will mostly find houses and bungalows, some older and some much newer. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do in a big town.

Big or small, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee in Park Town and across Oxfordshire.

Different surfaces, different methods

Wet rooms

New grout in a wet room keeps the surface sound. It can’t fix waterproofing below the tiles.

Shower walls

Shower walls are the most common area we regrout. Cracked or missing grout here lets water behind the tiles.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Park Town

Park Town has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.

Letting a property close to Oxford station? Then a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. Schools such as Wychwood School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Leave it or put it right?

Regrouting won’t help where tiles have come away. We point that out first so you know what’s involved. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting is far less disruptive than retiling. Around Park Town, water from a failed joint in an older home can soak into timber and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the sealant itself.

Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we will go through it with you.

  • Tiles that have come away from the wall

What affects the quote in Park Town

We do not publish a price list. The quote depends on:

  • Whether the work is at height
  • The number and length of the joints
  • Any working-time requirements on site
  • Mould in or behind the old joints

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part.

What to tell us for a quote

What to tell us when you ask for a quote:

  • Any previous sealing or DIY work
  • The address or postcode of the job
  • What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
  • The type of property

Quotes start with a quick conversation. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job, and we will explain how we’d tackle it. Whenever you’re ready, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Park Town: your questions answered

Is Park Town within the area you cover?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.

Do you work in hotels near Park Town?

Yes, we work for hotels as well as homes and businesses. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We’re fully insured, and we can confirm the details when we quote.

Is it worth trying it myself?

That depends on the joint. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.

Is regrouting a chance to pick a new grout colour?

Yes. Many clients do. A darker grout hides marks better and lighter grout gives a fresher look.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are glad to have it sorted.

Does someone need to be in?

Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. Indoors, that usually means someone at home.

Can you seal over the old sealant?

No. New silicone won’t bond to old silicone, and it traps any mould or water underneath. We remove it all first.

Should I try it myself first?

Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.

What happens on the day

Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and tidy away. Most jobs take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. For a job in Park Town, we agree the time, the access and parking before the day. If the work is outside, the weather plays a part, as sealant needs a dry surface.

  1. Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
  2. The old grout is removed to an even depth.
  3. We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
  4. New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
  5. We finish with silicone in the moving joints.

Preparing for the visit

  • For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
  • Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
