Knockholt Pound Regrouting
Our applicators work in Knockholt Pound on raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly.
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Splashback grout that has darkened
How we handle regrouting in Knockholt Pound
Most regrouting jobs include resealing too. Grout belongs between tiles, but internal corners and edges flex, so they need flexible silicone instead. Doing both at once leaves the whole area sound. If you’re dealing with discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles and greasy, stained grout behind the hob, we can put it right, on wet rooms, tiled floors and shower walls alike.
In a village or hamlet like Knockholt Pound, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Knockholt Pound as everywhere else we work.

Surface by surface
Bathroom wall tiles
We can regroute all the walls in a bathroom, depending on the area. It’s a good time to change the grout colour.
Wet rooms
Both the grout and the silicone in a wet room matter. We replace the grout and reseal the edges.
Can I do it myself?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.
Common questions in Knockholt Pound
Do you work for landlords with property near Knockholt station?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we will send you a clear quote.
Can you do regrouting in Knockholt Pound?
Yes, Knockholt Pound is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing.
Is it worth trying it myself?
That depends on the joint. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs.
Do you regrout part of a bathroom, like the shower?
Yes. A lot of our jobs are only the shower, or the area where the grout has gone.
Is it messy?
Not at all. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
Do you reseal at the same time?
Yes, in most cases. Fresh grout next to old, mouldy silicone would look odd and wouldn’t keep water out.
What if some of my tiles are loose?
New grout can’t hold loose tiles in place. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting, so you can decide what to do.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Just the basics: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. Then call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Knockholt Pound homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
For an older house near a landmark such as St Katharine's Church, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. Schools such as Halstead Community Primary School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. For landlords with property near Knockholt station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.
When it is not the sealant
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Tiles that are chipped or split
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Aftercare tips
How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
- Stick to mild products for cleaning grout
- Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
We’ll tell you when the area can be used again. Please follow it, and avoid scrubbing the new grout hard for the first few days.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
How we quote for regrouting
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- Working hours on commercial sites
- The number of rooms or windows
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
What it costs depends on the amount of work, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. We give a clear quote before we start, so you know where you stand.
What to tell us for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Roughly how big the job is
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
A good description makes for an accurate quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints.
The process
We work through the job in order: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. Typically it takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area, and the area is left clean. Somewhere like Knockholt Pound needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
- We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
- Internal corners and edges are resealed.
How to prepare
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Tell us if parking is tricky
