Hunton Bridge questions
I let a flat near Kings Langley station. Can you help?
Yes, we work for landlords and letting agents. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we will send you a clear quote.
Can you do regrouting in Hunton Bridge?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Hunton Bridge is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing, and we will give you a clear quote.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
The wait depends on the materials and how warm the room is. We will give you a time to follow at the end of the visit.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.
How long will you be here?
A typical job takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Your quote will say how long we expect yours to take.
Will the sealant be renewed as well as the grout?
Yes, in most cases. New grout beside old sealant wouldn’t look right and wouldn’t keep water out.
Can you change the grout colour?
Yes. Many clients do. Darker grout can hide marks, while lighter grout brightens a room.
Does someone need to be in?
We need access to the joints, so we’ll agree that with you when we book. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.
How we handle regrouting in Hunton Bridge
We check the tiles before any grout comes out. Loose or hollow tiles are pointed out first, since new grout cannot fix a problem underneath. With sound tiles, regrouting is a tidy, lasting improvement. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and bathroom floors, and the jobs we see most are discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles and crumbling grout between the tiles.
Somewhere as small as Hunton Bridge, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we’ll sort it.

When something else is needed
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what new sealant won’t do:
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A leaking wet room membrane
If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

DIY versus a professional finish
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it does not work out, we can still put it right.
What affects the cost of regrouting
The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- When we can work, for business premises
- The number of rooms or windows
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- The number and length of the joints
We don’t show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. Call for a quick quote and we’ll talk you through it.
Asking for a quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- The problem you’ve noticed
- The address or postcode of the job
- Whether it has been sealed before
For a quote, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the location and a short description of the problem. We’ll give you a clear quote before any work starts.
For landlords and businesses
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.
How the visit works
We bring everything the job needs with us, so there’s nothing for you to buy. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, we protect the area and start. It normally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Somewhere like Hunton Bridge needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises

What regrouting looks like in Hunton Bridge
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For landlords with property near Kings Langley station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. If you live in an older home near Church of St Paul, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. If you look after a building such as St Paul's Church of England Primary School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

What the job involves on each surface
Bathroom wall tiles
Tiles away from the shower stay drier but grout there still discolours. Regrouting brings them back in line.
Bathroom floors
Regrouting a floor brightens the whole room. The edges where floor meets wall or bath get silicone.
What happens if it’s left?
Colouring the surface of old grout is a quick cosmetic fix. They do not fill cracks or stop water, and stains can show through again. Raking out and regrouting replaces the grout itself. In a small place like Hunton Bridge, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You’ll know the price before we begin.
