Regrouting in Godstow
Our applicators work in Godstow on raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Grout that makes sound tiles look old
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
How we handle regrouting in Godstow
We work across Godstow, regrouting bathrooms, showers and kitchens. The old grout is raked out, the joints cleaned and new grout laid, finished with new silicone at the edges. We work on wet rooms, bathroom wall tiles and kitchen splashbacks, and the jobs we see most are greasy, stained grout behind the hob and cracked grout along the bath or tray.
For a small place like Godstow, regrouting is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
You get a 12-month guarantee, the same in Godstow as everywhere else we work.

Your questions about regrouting in Godstow
Do you work for landlords with property near Oxford Parkway station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Do you take on hotel work around Godstow?
Yes, we work for hotels as well as homes and businesses. Rooms can be done a few at a time, so the building stays open.
Where do you work from?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Is resealing included with regrouting?
Yes, in most cases. Fresh grout next to old, mouldy silicone would look odd and could still leak.
What guarantee comes with the work?
Our 12-month guarantee covers every job.
Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?
Yes. It’s the ideal time to change it. Mention the colour you have in mind when you phone 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Which products do you use?
Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, chosen to suit the joint. We’ll tell you what we’re using and why.
Why deal with it now?
If tiles are loose, regrouting alone isn’t the answer. We will tell you before work begins so you know what’s involved. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting is far less disruptive than retiling. Older cottages and farmhouses around Godstow can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Instead of a standard rate, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.

Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen splashbacks
We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The joint along the worktop is resealed with silicone.
Corners and edges
Edges are resealed while we are there, so everything is renewed at once.

In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
What happens on the day
Every visit runs the same way: we check the joints, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, do the work and tidy away. It usually takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. For a village or hamlet like Godstow, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.

Advice
DIY sealant or a professional job?
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Looking after it afterwards
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Look at the sealant in the corners now and then
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Don’t ignore a tile that feels loose
Use a gentle cleaner on the grout and a soft brush. Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers because they wear grout away.
Cracked grout does not stay cracked for long. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away, so regrouting early can save a retile.
What regrouting looks like in Godstow

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Wolvercote Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. Letting a property close to Oxford Parkway station? Then stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right. Homes close to Church of All Saints include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
