- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
Regrouting in East End
We regroute showers, bathroom walls and floors, splashbacks and wet rooms. It can be a full room, others just the shower. Either way, tiled areas in East End are handled the same careful way. If you have shower grout that has worn away and a grout colour that no longer suits the room, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Homes around East End are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.

Different surfaces, different methods
Corners and edges
Where tiles meet a bath, tray or worktop, the joint is sealed. Grout there would crack.
Bathroom floors
Floor grout takes foot traffic as well as water. It wears and darkens over time.
The process
Our applicators work methodically: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. For most jobs that takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area, and the area is left clean. Somewhere like East End needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- We start by checking the tiles for any that are loose or hollow.
- We rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care of the tile edges.
- We vacuum the joints and clean out the dust.
- We fill the joints with new grout, then clean the tiles.
- Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.
Getting ready for the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Move anything stored near the joints

East End homes and their sealant
East End is close to the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you look after a building such as Brooklands Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. If you let a flat or house near Manningtree station, stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

East End questions
I let a flat near Manningtree station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before work begins.
Do you cover East End for regrouting?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and East End is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and let us know what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?
Yes. It’s the ideal time to change it. Tell us the colour you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Do I need to be at home?
That depends on where the joints are. For work indoors, someone needs to let us in.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
It varies with the products and the room. We’ll give you a time to follow when the job is done.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises, as well as homes. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
How long will you be here?
It depends on the size of the job, but most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. We will give you a better idea when we quote.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again.
Why act early in East End
Grout pens and paint-on colourants only cover the surface. They will not fill gaps or keep water out, and stains can show through again. A proper regrout puts new grout in the joint. In a small place like East End, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
We don’t show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll talk you through it.

Looking after it afterwards
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. A few tips:
- Open a window or run the fan to clear steam
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
A squeegee or cloth over the tiles after use keeps water off the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window so the grout dries between uses.
Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left for a few years, they can become a leak, so get it looked at when you notice it.
When to call us in East End
Grout is porous, so it soaks up water, soap and dirt. Given time, it discolours and begins to break down, especially in a shower that’s used every day.
Common reasons people contact us include:
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
If you live in an older home near Church of St Michael and All Angels, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
