Regrouting for homes and businesses in Buckland
Most regrouting jobs include resealing too. Grout belongs between tiles, but internal corners and edges flex, so they’re sealed with silicone rather than grout. Doing both at once leaves the whole area sound. Common call-outs are for grout stained black or orange that won’t clean and grout in corners that has cracked, on bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and tiled floors.
For a small place like Buckland, regrouting is planned like any other job: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Big or small, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee.

How we quote for regrouting
Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- The product the joint needs
- The number and length of the joints
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Any working-time requirements on site
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What to tell us for a quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- If someone has resealed it before
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location. Photos by email help us understand the job, and we will come back to you with a quote.
Can I do it myself?
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Buckland
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you look after a building such as Buckland Church of England Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Do you need regrouting in Buckland?
When tiles or the wall behind them move, the grout cracks. That can be a loose tile, a flexing floor or a stud wall, which is why we check the tiles first.
Common reasons people contact us include:
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
For an older house near a landmark such as Roman Catholic Church of St George, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
What to look for in a quote
- How the joint is cleaned and prepared
- What product goes in the joint
- Who turns up on the day
- Whether they’re fully insured
What happens on the day
At the end, we look at the finished work together and explain the cure time. The visit itself normally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area, depending on the amount of work. In a small place like Buckland, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- Dust and debris are vacuumed out of every joint.
- We fill the joints with new grout, then clean the tiles.
- Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
How to get a quote
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Tell us where the job is, what’s wrong and how much there is.
Advice
Looking after it afterwards
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Don’t use strong acidic cleaners on grout
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
Have any tile that moves checked straight away. Movement will crack the new grout and open a path for water.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Every shower pushes more water into the gaps, and that water can reach the wall or the floor below.
When something else is needed
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
- Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll say what we think.
What we seal
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Tiled floors
- Shower walls
- Wet rooms
- Bathroom floors

Questions from Buckland
Is there a guarantee on regrouting in Buckland?
Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever it is. We’re also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Do you cover smaller places like Buckland?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No, because it fails. We remove every bit of old sealant first, so the new sealant bonds properly.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we are part of it.
Is it worth trying it myself?
For a simple, easy-to-reach joint, a careful DIYer can do a reasonable job. The usual mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using too much.
Will it make a mess?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Do I need to be at home?
That depends on where the joints are. For work indoors, someone needs to let us in.

Why it’s worth doing now in Buckland
With regrouting, your tiles stay where they are. Retiling means stripping the walls, making good and choosing new tiles, and the room is out of use for longer. When the tiles are fine, it’s the sensible first step. In a small place like Buckland, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Doing several joints on one visit is generally more efficient than separate visits. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.
