How we handle regrouting in Bladon
We regroute showers, bathroom walls and floors, splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, or just the area that has failed. Whatever the size, the method stays the same. Common call-outs are for floor grout that won’t come clean and grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned, across kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and bathroom floors.
Being in a small place like Bladon makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee.

Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen splashbacks
A splashback can be regrouted without touching the worktop. The joint along the worktop is resealed with silicone.
Bathroom floors
New floor grout makes a big difference to how a bathroom looks. The edges where floor meets wall or bath get silicone.

Regrouting in Bladon: local notes
There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Bladon. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Managing a site like Bladon Church of England Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. For landlords with property near Hanborough station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.

What sealant work cannot fix
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- Failed tanking or waterproofing under the tiles
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- Water coming from plumbing rather than grout
If you’re not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we seal
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Bathroom wall tiles
- Shower walls
- Tiled floors
- Bathroom floors
- Wet rooms
When to call us in Bladon
Movement behind the tiles cracks grout. Loose tiles, bouncy floors and timber walls can all do it, so we check the tiles before work begins.
People generally contact us when they notice something like this:
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
Homes close to St Martin's Church include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
What to look for in a quote
- How much experience the applicator has
- Which sealant they’ll use, and why
- Whether you can choose the colour
- Whether VAT is included
What we do, step by step
Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that’s where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. In total, it normally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Somewhere as small as Bladon, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Move anything stored near the joints

Related advice
Bladon: your questions answered
Will you come out to Bladon?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Do you work for hotels and guest houses in Bladon?
Yes. Hotel and guest-house work is part of what we do. Work can be planned room by room, and out-of-hours working can be arranged.
What does regrouting cost?
Size, access and the old material all affect the cost. Ask us for a quote.
Is resealing included with regrouting?
In most cases, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.
Is the work guaranteed?
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, including regrouting.
Is it worth trying it myself?
Sometimes. The key is preparation: remove all the old material and work on a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
Does someone need to be in?
Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.
Is it messy?
No. We protect the surfaces around the joints, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
What happens if it’s left?
Grouting over old grout rarely lasts. It sits thinly on top and soon flakes away, taking any repair with it. Raking out to a consistent depth gives the new grout something to hold. Around Bladon, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You will know the price before we begin.
Why us?
- More than 20 years in sealant work
- Old sealant always removed completely
- Tidy, careful work
- Anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas

Can I do it myself?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again, so just mention it when you contact us.
How we quote for regrouting
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- The size of the job
- When we can work, for business premises
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference.
Asking for a quote
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:
- Where the property is
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- If someone has resealed it before
For regrouting in Bladon, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email. A short description of the job and where it is helps us quote, and we will agree the price before any work begins.
