About bathroom resealing in HP14
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across HP14. We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. Typical jobs include new sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting and leaking joints on a shower screen, across basins & vanity units, sinks & splashbacks and shower trays & enclosures.
When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. The work generally takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
How we quote
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.
What you get with us
- Arbo and Everbuild products
- White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
- Over 20 years’ experience
- Neat joints and a tidy finish

Around Stokenchurch
We work in homes and buildings around Four Horseshoes pub, Stokenchurch Methodist Church and Stokenchurch Primary School. Stokenchurch’s nearest station is Saunderton station, about 3.4 miles east of the centre. For a walk, there’s Bald Hill and Yoesden.
Bathroom resealing across HP14: local notes
Across HP14, from Stokenchurch, Lane End and Naphill outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Family bathrooms, rented flats and hotel en suites all need their sealant and grout renewing in time.
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, but outdoor sealant still needs a dry day and clean surfaces, so outside work in HP14 is planned around the forecast.
Stokenchurch: Letting a property close to Saunderton station? Then fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. If you look after a building such as Stokenchurch Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
Different surfaces, different methods
Baths
Acrylic baths flex the most, and even steel and cast iron baths settle slightly when full. Loading the bath with water before sealing allows for it.
Shower trays & enclosures
Shower trays are sealed to the wall, and enclosures are sealed to the tray and tiles. Both take water every day, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Why it fails
Silicone needs a clean, dry surface without any grease to stick to. Soap residue, oils and leftover silicone film all get in the way, and a joint that looked fine soon begins to come away.
The problems people generally mention when they call are:
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
Aftercare tips
Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Move toiletries away from the joint
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Wait for the cure time we give you
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Don’t wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Sealant is a maintenance item, like the paint on a window frame, and replacing it when it fails protects the rest of the room.
Quotes for bathroom resealing in HP14
Your quote is based on your job. We take into account:
- The type of sealant required
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- How easy the joints are to reach
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What to tell us for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can tell us:
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- Where the job is, and your postcode
Want a quote for bathroom resealing? Please call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the job. You’ll know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.
Honest limits
We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so here’s what sealant cannot put right:
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that is regrouting)
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- A tray or bath that is cracked through
HP14 questions
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Just list everything you need.
What do you put in the joint?
The product depends on the job: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. Hotels, offices and other businesses use us and we’re fully insured.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s normally around 24 hours. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Is there any odour?
That depends on the sealant. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all.
Where are you based?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.
