Stevenston Gutter Sealing
Gutter sealing across Stevenston and nearby, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a one-year guarantee.
- Water running down the wall below the gutter
- Damp patches inside below a leaking gutter
- Old sealant on roofline trims that has split
Gutter sealing in Stevenston, done properly
Open fascia and soffit joints spoil the roofline and can let weather in. They’re sealed in a matching colour where one is available. If you’re dealing with old sealant on roofline trims that has split and rain getting in around a garage door, we can help, on uPVC fascias, gutter joints and gutter end caps alike.
Older stone buildings need a sealant that suits the stone, not an acetoxy product that can mark or attack it. On newer homes, the movement joints and roofline trims are what need watching.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

For landlords and businesses
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
Stevenston buildings and the weather
Stevenston is close to the coast, and homes near the sea take more wind-driven rain, with salt in the air closer to the shore. That is hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. With historic houses such as Montgreenan (about 4.7 miles east) nearby, there’s older building stock in the area around Stevenston as well as newer homes. In older buildings, older walls and rooflines need a sealant that moves with them and suits the material.
Schools such as Glencairn Primary School are buildings too, and its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s. Historic houses such as Montgreenan, about 4.7 miles east, show how far back building around Stevenston goes, and older homes nearby need a sealant that suits their walls.

FAQs for Stevenston
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Stevenston station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can go on one quote. You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the details for a clear quote.
Is gutter sealing in a coastal place like Stevenston any different?
Near the coast, wind-driven rain and, nearer the shore, salt air make outside sealant work harder. The right product, a clean joint and the right depth all help it cope.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Tell us what needs doing and where. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
When is the sealant fully cured?
Different products cure at different speeds, so please follow the time we give you.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Of course. Doing several areas at once is generally more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. Hotels, offices and other businesses use us, and we are fully insured.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No. New silicone will not bond to old silicone, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. It all has to come out first.
What we are called out for in Stevenston
Gutter joints rely on seals that age. Sun and cold make the gutter expand and contract and that movement opens up tired joints.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Failed sealant on a garage door frame
- Streaks down the brickwork from a leaking joint
- Cracked sealant along roofline trims
- End caps that drip every time it rains
Rented homes near Stevenston station change hands often, and a dripping gutter joint or loose fascia trim is easy to miss until damp shows inside.

Leave it or put it right?
You don’t need to replace a garage door because rain gets in round the frame. Resealing the frame joint is often enough, if the frame itself is sound. Out of town in Scotland, exposed walls take a lot of weather, and once water gets behind a failed joint, damp in stone or harled walls is slow to dry out.
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.

What the job involves on each surface
Garage door frames
Garage door frames let rain in when their sealant fails. We cut it out and reseal.
Soffit joints
Open soffit joints let draughts in. We close them with a suitable sealant.
What we can’t put right
Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what sealant can’t fix:
- Cracked, split or warped gutter sections
- Water backing up from a blocked pipe
- Rotten or damaged fascia boards
If you’re not sure, just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we seal
- Garage door frames
- Roofline trims
- uPVC fascias
- Gutter end caps
- Soffit joints
- Gutter joints
Keeping the joints in good condition
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. Our advice:
- Look for streaks or damp on the wall below gutters
- Deal with a drip before winter
- Make sure downpipes are not blocked
- Keep the gutters clear of debris
Clear the gutters once or twice a year, so water drains away past the joints. Standing water strains every seal.
A leaking garage frame lets water reach stored items. A reseal sorts it.
What happens on the day
When we get to you, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes a few hours, depending on the number of joints and the access. Outside jobs in Stevenston need a dry day, because sealant won’t bond to a wet joint, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Work indoors isn’t affected.
- We start by tracing the leak and checking the gutter itself is sound.
- We clean out the joint and take out the old sealant.
- The area is dried so the sealant can bond.
- We seal the joint with a sealant made for gutters and outdoor use.
- We look along the gutter and clear debris around the joints.
How to prepare
- Clear items away from the joints we are working on
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Mention any parking rules near the property
