Gutter sealing in Highmoor

Highmoor: your questions answered

I let a flat near Henley-On-Thames station. Can you help?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts.

Can you do gutter sealing in Highmoor?

Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Highmoor is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.

When is the sealant fully cured?

That depends on the sealant used, so please follow the time we give you.

Can you work on commercial sites?

Yes. Hotels, offices and other businesses use us and we’re fully insured.

What guarantee comes with the job?

Our one-year guarantee covers every job.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course. Doing several areas at once is generally more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.

Will sealing fix a sagging gutter?

Not on its own. A sagging gutter pulls its joints apart, so the brackets need fixing first.

Do you take out the old sealant first?

Yes. We cut out all the old sealant and clean the joint.

Gutter sealing in Highmoor, done properly

Garage door frames let rain in when the sealant around them fails. We cut out the old sealant and reseal the frame with an exterior sealant. Common call-outs are for leaking gutter joints and stop ends and failed sealant on a garage door frame, across garage door frames, uPVC fascias and soffit joints.

In a village or hamlet like Highmoor, older cottages and farm buildings often stand in the open, where walls and rooflines take the weather head on. Gutter joints and wall joints there need a sealant that can flex and stay put.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same 12-month guarantee.

What happens on the day

A visit follows a simple pattern: we check the joints, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, do the work and tidy away. It generally takes anything from an hour or two to a few hours. For a village or hamlet like Highmoor, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. We look at the gutters, fascias and trims and agree the joints to seal.
  2. Each joint is cleaned and any old sealant removed.
  3. We make sure everything is dry.
  4. The sealant is applied and finished.
  5. We check our work before we leave.

How to prepare

Advice

Different surfaces, different methods

Soffit joints

We choose a sealant colour that suits the soffit, where one is available.

Roofline trims

Trim joints are cut out and resealed suited to the material.

What affects the cost of gutter sealing

Your quote is based on your job. We take into account:

  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • The number of rooms or windows
  • How easy the joints are to reach
  • The amount of work

What it costs depends on the size of the job, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. You will have a clear quote before any work starts.

Asking for a quote

There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:

  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • Whether it’s a home or a business
  • The rough size of the job
  • Where the job is, and your postcode

If you’re in Highmoor and need gutter sealing, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email. Tell us what the problem is and where, and we’ll agree the price before any work begins.

What gutter sealing looks like in Highmoor

With historic houses such as Greys Court (about 2 miles south-east) nearby, there’s older building stock in the area around Highmoor as well as newer homes. In older buildings, older brick and stone need a sealant that suits them, at the right joint depth. Compared with the north and west, the South East gets less rain, yet outdoor joints still have to be sealed dry, so jobs are booked with the weather in mind.

For landlords with property near Henley-On-Thames station, leaking gutter joints on a rental are best caught before they stain the walls. In the older streets around Church of St Paul, old and new materials meet at the roofline and walls, which is where sealant earns its keep.

Why it’s worth doing now in Highmoor

Sealing over a dirty, wet joint is a quick fix that rarely lasts but it tends to peel off. Proper preparation is the difference. Older cottages and farmhouses around Highmoor can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.

Doing several joints on one visit normally makes better use of the time than several visits. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.

Honest limits

Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t solve:

  • Fascias that need replacing
  • Cracked, split or warped gutter sections
  • Water backing up from a blocked pipe

If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you a straight answer.

Do you need gutter sealing in Highmoor?

Leaves and moss hold water in the gutter. Water that cannot drain works its way through a weak joint and drips through.

Any of these means the joints need attention:

  • Internal damp traced to a gutter joint
  • Water dripping where gutter sections meet
  • Open joints in fascias and soffits
  • Old gutter sealant that has let go

Schools such as Stoke Row Church of England School are buildings too, and its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s.

10 questions to ask before you book

Should I try it myself first?

Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
