Gutter Sealing in Fionnphort
Our applicators work in Fionnphort on sealing leaking gutter joints, end caps, fascias, soffits and roofline trims. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.
- Damp on an inside wall under a dripping gutter
- Streaks down the brickwork from a leaking joint
- Stop ends leaking at the end of a run
Looking after it afterwards
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Watch for drips in a downpour
- Clean out the gutters once or twice a year
- Deal with a drip before winter
- Get a dropping gutter looked at quickly
Make sure downpipes aren’t blocked so the gutter can drain. A blocked pipe backs water up to the joints.
A leaking stop end is best sealed before the wet months. A winter of drips can lead to damp patches inside.
Gutter sealing in Fionnphort
We work across Fionnphort on leaking gutter joints and roofline trims. Single-storey and low gutters are simple to reach, and for higher work, tell us about access and we will confirm what’s needed. We work on gutter end caps, gutter joints and soffit joints, and people most often call us about leaking gutter joints and stop ends and damp patches inside below a leaking gutter.
Stone walls need a stone-friendly sealant, as acetoxy products can attack some stone. Newer houses need their movement joints and roofline trims kept sound.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

How the job changes by surface
Gutter end caps
Stop ends hold back water at the end of a run. When their seal fails, they drip.
Garage door frames
Resealing a garage door frame keeps rain and draughts out.
What else we do in Fionnphort
The process
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you. The work normally takes anything from an hour or two to a few hours, depending on the amount of work. Outside jobs in Fionnphort need a dry day, because sealant won’t bond to a wet joint, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.
- First we trace the drip and check the gutter isn’t damaged.
- We remove the old sealant and clean the joint.
- The joint is dried before sealing.
- We seal the joint with a sealant made for gutters.
- We check the run and clear debris near the joints.
Before we arrive
- Mention any tricky access
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work

Common questions in Fionnphort
Is Fionnphort within the area you cover?
Yes, Fionnphort is covered. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Does living near the coast affect gutter sealing in Fionnphort?
Near the sea, outside joints face more wind, rain and salt than they would inland, so preparation and the right sealant matter all the more. It’s worth checking the walls that face the sea first.
Should I try DIY first?
Sometimes. The key is preparation: remove all the old material and work on a clean, dry joint. If it does not work out, we can redo it.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Of course. Doing several areas at once is usually more efficient.
How long before the joint can be used?
Most sealants are touch-dry well before they’re fully cured. We’ll give you the cure time for the product we used.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. Hotels, offices and other businesses use us and we are fully insured.
Can you seal fascia and soffit joints?
We do. We seal the joints, not replace the boards and we will let you know if a board has failed.
Are you insured?
Yes. We are fully insured for domestic and commercial work.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Fionnphort
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Letting agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will give you a quote.
Leave it or put it right?
A dripping gutter joint keeps wetting the same patch of wall. Over time that can stain brickwork, mark render and encourage damp so early sealing is worthwhile. When the nearest tradesperson is a drive away, it’s tempting to leave a small leak, but water behind a failed seal does the most damage when nobody’s watching.
We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

When something else is needed
Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what sealant cannot fix:
- Brackets that have snapped or loosened
- Boards that have decayed or split
- Leaks from the roof rather than a joint

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly.
Gutter sealing in Fionnphort: local notes
Fionnphort is within about 1 mile of the coast, where wind-driven rain is a fact of life and, nearer the shore, so is salt air. That is hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. Plenty of Scottish homes have harled walls, and where harling meets frames, pipes and other materials, the joint needs a flexible sealant that grips a rough surface.
For jobs in and around Fionnphort, choosing the right material for each joint is as important as a tidy finish. In and around Fionnphort, as anywhere, good gutter sealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint.
