Helping us quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- If someone has resealed it before
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- A few photos by email, if you can
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location and its rough size. Photos by email help us understand the job, and we’ll take it from there.
Gutter sealing for homes and businesses in Drumbuie
Our work covers gutter joints and end caps as well as fascias and soffits, along with roofline trims and garage door frames. It’s all about the joints rather than new guttering. If you’re dealing with open joints in fascias and soffits and garage door frames letting rain in, we can help, on gutter end caps, uPVC fascias and soffit joints alike.
Stone walls need a stone-friendly sealant, as acetoxy products can attack some stone. On newer homes, the movement joints and roofline trims are what need watching.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once the job is done.

What we do, step by step
At the end, we look at the finished work together and tell you how long to leave it. The visit itself generally takes an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run, depending on the size of the job. In smaller Scottish places, parking is normally less of an issue than access and distance. Let us know how to find you and how to reach the joints.
- First, we find the drip and check the gutter is not cracked or sagging.
- The joint or trim is cleaned out and old sealant removed.
- The joint is dried, because sealant will not bond to a wet surface.
- Gutter or exterior sealant is applied and finished.
- We check the run and clear any debris we find while we are there.
Before we arrive
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints

Why it’s worth doing now in Drumbuie
Leaving a leaking end cap can send water down the wall all winter. It’s a small job to put right before the damage spreads. In an older home around Drumbuie, damp from a failed joint can get into timber and plaster.
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.

Do you need gutter sealing in Drumbuie?
Roofline sealant ages in sun and rain. It hardens, shrinks and splits over time.
Any of these means the joints need attention:
- Dripping gutter ends
- Failed sealant on a garage door frame
- Streaks down the brickwork from a leaking joint
- Old gutter sealant that has let go
Rented homes near Duirinish station change hands often, and a gutter joint that drips onto the wall can turn into a damp complaint, so it’s worth checking.
Questions to ask before you book
- How long to leave it before use
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- How much experience the applicator has
- How the joint is cleaned and prepared
Keeping the joints in good condition
Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Look at the gutters while it’s raining
- Keep downpipes clear
- Glance at the soffit joints now and then
- Have sagging gutters refixed early
Check the joints after heavy rain. It’s the easiest time to see a leak.
If an end cap is dripping, deal with it before winter. Water down the wall all winter can cause damp inside.
Drumbuie buildings and the weather
Drumbuie is within about 1 mile of the coast, and homes near the sea take more wind-driven rain, with salt in the air closer to the shore. That is hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. Harled (roughcast) walls are common in Scotland, and joints where harling meets other materials need a sealant that can grip and flex.
Schools such as Lochalsh School are buildings too, and larger buildings have long runs of movement joint that eventually need resealing.
Drumbuie is in Highland. Jobs in Drumbuie get the same care as everywhere else we work: old sealant removed completely, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee. Drumbuie is one of 253 places in Highland we cover.
Our applicators cover all of IV40 for gutter sealing. If you are just outside Drumbuie, we cover Erbusaig (1 mile south-west), Plockton (2 miles north-east), Kyle of Lochalsh (2 miles south), Balmacara (3 miles south-east) and Kyleakin (3 miles south-west). If you are somewhere remote, a little more planning is needed, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

Common questions in Drumbuie
Does the coastal weather in Drumbuie affect outside sealant?
Near the coast, wind-driven rain and, nearer the shore, salt air make outside sealant work harder. Choosing the right sealant for the frame and wall, laid at the right depth, helps it last.
Do you work for landlords with property near Duirinish station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before work begins.
Do you seal gaps in fascias and soffits?
Yes. We seal the joints, not replace the boards, and if a board is damaged, we’ll tell you.
Can you fit new guttering?
No. We seal leaking joints and trims. Replacement needs a gutter installer or roofer.
Where do you work from?
We work from Crawley. Our applicators cover Drumbuie.
Should I try DIY first?
That depends on the joint. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs.
Will there be a smell?
Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it often makes sense. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Honest limits
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- Problems with the roof covering
- Rotten or damaged fascia boards
- Guttering that needs replacing
If you’re not sure, just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we seal
- Garage door frames
- Gutter end caps
- Roofline trims
- Gutter joints
- Soffit joints
- uPVC fascias
Should I try it myself first?
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
