- Water running down the wall below the gutter
- Fascia boards with gaps between them
- Drips from gutter joints and end caps
About our gutter sealing in Bowling Alley
Our work covers gutter joints and end caps as well as fascias and soffits plus roofline trims and garage door frames. It’s all about the joints, not replacing the gutter. If you have wet patches on the wall under a gutter joint and gaps along fascia and soffit joints, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Somewhere as small as Bowling Alley, homes and farm buildings often face open ground, where walls and rooflines take the weather head on. Gutter joints and wall joints there need a sealant that can flex and stay put.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

The process
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Show us the job and we’ll take it from there. The job generally takes a few hours, depending on the number of joints and the access. In a small place like Bowling Alley, access is generally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We look at the gutters, fascias and trims and agree the joints to seal.
- We clean out each joint.
- The joints are dried.
- The sealant is applied and finished.
- We check our work before we leave.

Aftercare tips
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Keep downpipes clear
- Deal with a drip before winter
- Clear leaves and moss from the gutters
- Check fascia and soffit joints for gaps
Leave the new sealant to cure as we advise and avoid disturbing it.
A drip from a gutter joint will not stop on its own. Water keeps hitting the same part of the wall and that can cause damp inside.

Bowling Alley buildings and the weather
Rainfall in the South East is lower than in much of the UK, though outdoor sealant still has to go onto a dry joint, so the forecast decides the day. Historic houses like Farnham Castle (about 3.1 miles south-east) are a reminder that the area around Bowling Alley has older buildings as well as new. In older buildings, older brick and stone need a sealant that suits them, at the right joint depth.
In the older streets around Church of All Saints, an extension built onto an older house moves differently, and the joint between them takes the strain. If you look after a building such as St Nicholas' School, larger buildings have long runs of movement joint that eventually need resealing.

Can I do it myself?
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
What the job involves on each surface
Soffit joints
Soffits sit under the eaves, where joints can open up. They’re sealed to tidy the line.
Gutter joints
When a joint drips, the gutter is often still sound. Resealing is normally enough.
For landlords and businesses
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy. We can quote for more than one property at once.
Signs you need gutter sealing in Bowling Alley
When a gutter sags, its joints open. Sealing won’t hold if the gutter keeps dropping, so the gutter needs refixing first.
The problems people normally mention when they call include:
- Water running down the wall below the gutter
- Garage door frames letting rain in
- Stop ends leaking at the end of a run
- Internal damp traced to a gutter joint
For landlords with property near Winchfield station, a dripping gutter joint or loose fascia trim is easy to miss until damp shows inside.
