Banbhaidh Gutter Sealing
Professional gutter sealing in and around Banbhaidh, with every bit of old sealant taken out first.
- Water running down the wall below the gutter
- Drips from gutter joints and end caps
- Fascia boards with gaps between them
Gutter sealing in Banbhaidh, done properly
Across Banbhaidh, we reseal gutter joints, end caps and roofline trims. Low-level work is straightforward and if it’s higher up, let us know and we’ll confirm what access is needed. We’re often asked to deal with streaks down the brickwork from a leaking joint and damp on an inside wall under a dripping gutter, on roofline trims, gutter joints and soffit joints.
External sealant needs dry surfaces, so outdoor work around Banbhaidh is planned around the weather. Let us know about access to every wall and roofline.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

Should I try it myself first?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
The process
At the end, we look at the finished work together and explain the cure time. The work normally takes an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run, depending on the size of the job. Somewhere like Banbhaidh may be a longer drive, and the journey is planned ahead. Tell us about tracks, gates, a ferry crossing or anything unusual about getting there.
- First we agree which joints need sealing.
- Each joint is cleaned and any old sealant removed.
- We make sure everything is dry.
- The sealant is applied and finished.
- The joints are checked once sealed.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit

Signs you need gutter sealing in Banbhaidh
Water spilling over a blocked gutter is often mistaken for a leak. If the downpipe is blocked, water has nowhere to go so we check the cause first.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Drips from gutter joints and end caps
- Rain getting in around a garage door
- Water running down the wall below the gutter

Around Banbhaidh, as everywhere, gutter sealing is only as good as the preparation behind it.

What gutter sealing looks like in Banbhaidh
Banbhaidh is close to the coast, and homes near the sea take more wind-driven rain, with salt in the air closer to the shore. That’s hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. Plenty of Scottish homes have harled walls, and joints where harling meets other materials need a sealant that can grip and flex.
Letting a property close to Banavie station? Then a gutter joint that drips onto the wall can turn into a damp complaint, so it’s worth checking.

Surface by surface
Garage door frames
Resealing a garage door frame keeps rain and draughts out.
Gutter joints
Gutter joints move and sit in water. A dedicated gutter sealant suits them.
Keeping the joints in good condition
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. Our advice:
- Check the gutters during heavy rain
- Keep an eye out for wet patches below a joint
- Don’t leave a sagging gutter
- Sort out a dripping joint early
Have a look at the gutter during a downpour. Drips are easiest to spot while it’s raining.
Once roofline sealant splits, water can get behind it. Resealing early protects the boards.
Why deal with it now?
A dripping gutter joint keeps wetting the same patch of wall. Over time that can stain brickwork, mark render and encourage damp so early sealing is worthwhile. Around Banbhaidh, water from a failed joint in an older stone home can soak into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.

Your questions about gutter sealing in Banbhaidh
Do you work for landlords with property near Banavie station?
Yes. We work for letting agents and landlords as well as homeowners. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the address and what needs doing, and we will send you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Banbhaidh?
Yes. Banbhaidh is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Can I choose the sealant colour?
We’ll suggest a colour to suit the surroundings. The choice depends on the product the joint needs.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We’re approved under the ARBOMaster scheme, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No, and we never do. It can look neat for a few weeks, but the new layer lifts away from the old one. Removing the old sealant completely is the only lasting way.
Do you replace gutters or fascias?
We don’t replace gutters or fascias. If a gutter is broken or sagging, we will tell you so you can call the right trade.
Will sealing fix a sagging gutter?
It will not last. The movement opens the joint again, so the fall and brackets need sorting first.
