Canada Glazing Silicone
Professional glazing silicone in and around Canada, with old sealant always removed completely.
- Rooflight joints letting water in
- Mouldy sealant around glass panels
- Glass-to-glass joints that have split
About our glazing silicone in Canada
Across Canada, we reseal glazing joints in homes, offices and hotels. Conservatories, rooflights, glass panels and shower screens are all part of the job, with a sealant chosen for the joint. If you have glazing silicone that has cracked or come away and mouldy sealant around glass panels, we can put it right.
In a village or hamlet like Canada, older cottages and farmhouses often have timber windows set in stone or brick. Older buildings like these do not always suit modern silicone, so the sealant has to be chosen to suit the building.
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job.

Should I try it myself first?
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
For landlords and businesses
Letting agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we’ll quote.
Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report, and it’s easy to sort out between tenants. Several properties can go on one quote.
How we quote for glazing silicone
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Any mould that needs treating
- The size of the job
- The product the joint needs
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll talk you through it.
What we need to know
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- How we’d reach the joints
- Where the property is
- A few photos by email, if you can
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we give you a clear price for your job. To get started, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Aftercare tips
Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. Here’s what we suggest:
- Check the gutters above the glazing for debris
- Do not use a blade near the sealant
- Keep air moving in the conservatory
- Check the silicone on glass every year or so
Squeegee a shower screen after each shower and let the room air. That slows mould growth on the bead.
A small conservatory leak soon spreads. Water travels along the frame and into the wall so it’s best dealt with right away.
How it works
On the day, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before work begins. Most jobs take a few hours for most jobs. For a village or hamlet like Canada, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- First, we check where the water gets in.
- The failed silicone is cut out without marking the glass or frame.
- We clean the glass and frame so the new silicone bonds.
- A neutral-cure glazing silicone is applied and tooled.
- Each joint is checked and, where possible, water-tested.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Move anything stored near the joints
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed

Glass balustrade bases
We reseal the joint where the glass meets the base channel. We do not install or replace glass.
Shower screens
A screen’s wall joint and tray joint are where leaks start. We reseal both with anti-fungal silicone.
What glazing silicone looks like in Canada
Compared with the north and west, the South East gets less rain, though outdoor sealant still has to go onto a dry joint, so the forecast decides the day. With historic houses such as Landford Manor (about 2 miles north-west) nearby, there’s older building stock in the area around Canada as well as newer homes. In older buildings, older frames set in brick or stone need a sealant that suits them, and sometimes that is traditional sand mastic.
For landlords with property near Romsey station, leaking glazing joints, shower screens or conservatory seals are worth sorting between tenancies. Historic houses such as Landford Manor, about 2 miles north-west, show how far back building around Canada goes. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Wellow School, its window and door frames need their mastic kept sound, just like a home’s.
Canada is about 5 miles north-west of Totton, in Hampshire. Jobs in Canada get the same care as everywhere else we work: the old material taken out, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee. Across Hampshire, we cover 683 places, Canada among them. For nearby work, see our Southampton page, about 9 miles away.
Postcode districts we cover here for glazing silicone: SO51. We also cover West Wellow (1 mile north), Blackhill (1 mile east), East Wellow (1 mile east), Newbridge (2 miles south) and Plaitford Green (2 miles north). Larger places within reach include Winchester (14 miles north-east), Eastleigh (11 miles east), Totton (5 miles south-east), Chandler's Ford (9 miles east), Hedge End (13 miles east) and Lymington (14 miles south).
Landmarks near Canada
Locally, jobs take us to homes and businesses close to Rockingham Arms and the streets around them. The nearest railway station is Romsey station, roughly 4.6 miles north-east of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Tatchbury Mount Hospital (3.5 miles south-east). Not far away are Copythorne Common.
When it isn’t the sealant
We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what sealant cannot put right:
- Leaks from the roof covering or flashing (a roofer’s job)
- Misting between the panes of a double-glazed unit (a failed unit for a glazier)
- A broken pane or roof panel
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Questions from Canada
Do you cover Canada for glazing silicone?
Yes, Canada is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing.
Will you come out to Canada?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
What guarantee do I get?
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job.
Why not top up the existing silicone?
New silicone won’t bond to old silicone and water gets between the layers. We cut out the old sealant first.

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are glad to have it sorted.

Yes, we can. More than one area can go on one quote.
