Helping us quote

When you call or email, it’s useful to know:

  • Roughly how big the job is
  • If someone has resealed it before
  • Where the property is
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email

Every job is quoted individually, so the first step is telling us about yours. Simply ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and describe the job and send photos if you have them.

How we handle commercial sealant in Bredgar

Staff facilities can’t be out of action for long. We can plan the work for early mornings or out of hours so the working day is disturbed as little as possible. You’re told when each area can be used again. Common call-outs are for leaking joints in shower rooms and changing areas and worktop sealant that has shrunk and stained, across hotel bathrooms, office washrooms & kitchens and rental portfolios.

In a village or hamlet like Bredgar, commercial work is more likely to be a pub, a farm shop, holiday lets or a village hall than an office block. Each still needs sound sealant in its washrooms and kitchens, and fire-rated joints where services pass through walls.

Big or small, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee.

For buildings such as Church of St John the Baptist, its kitchen and washroom sealant needs looking after like anywhere else. Schools such as Bredgar Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and busy washrooms and kitchens can be resealed in phases so they stay open.

Do you need commercial sealant in Bredgar?

Shower trays and baths in busy buildings move more: people of all sizes, daily cleaning and constant loading. A tray that is not fully supported soon tears its seal.

If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:

  • Black, stained silicone in guest bathrooms
  • Leaking joints in shower rooms and changing areas
  • Sealant failing again soon after quick repairs
  • Rental bathrooms that need resealing between tenants

Rented homes near Sittingbourne station change hands often, and we can quote for one property or a whole portfolio of rentals.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether they seal over old material or remove it
  • Are they insured?
  • How the joint is cleaned and prepared
  • The length of the guarantee

Our hiring checklist

What we do, step by step

There isn’t much for you to do on the day. Show us the job and we will take it from there. The job generally takes a few hours per room, so whole buildings are phased from start to finish. For a village or hamlet like Bredgar, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. Tell us the rooms, hours and site rules, and we’ll plan the programme.
  2. Tell us what paperwork your site needs, and we confirm what we can supply before we start.
  3. Old sealant is cut out room by room and joints cleaned and treated.
  4. Anti-fungal sanitary silicone goes into wet areas, with suitable sealant elsewhere.
  5. Each finished area is checked with you and given a cure time.

Getting ready for the visit

Related advice

Should I try it myself first?

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.

What sealant work can’t fix

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Tiles coming off the wall
  • Damaged sanitaryware that needs replacing
  • Fire risk assessments or certification

If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think before you book.
