Commercial sealant in Adgestone, done properly

In showers and washrooms we use anti-fungal sanitary silicone, with a food-safe sealant by kitchen sinks where needed. We use sealants from Arbo and Everbuild, chosen to suit each joint. We work on rental portfolios, office washrooms & kitchens and student & care accommodation, and common reasons people get in touch are washrooms that need sorting before an inspection and sealant failing again soon after quick repairs.

Somewhere as small as Adgestone, commercial jobs tend to be pubs, holiday lets, farm buildings or halls rather than offices. Each still needs sound sealant in its washrooms and kitchens, and fire-rated joints where services pass through walls.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee.

Should I try it myself first?

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We remove it and do the joint properly.

FAQs for Adgestone

Do you work in hotels near Adgestone?

Yes, hospitality work, including hotels, is part of what we do. Jobs can be programmed room by room, with out-of-hours working possible to arrange.

Do you cover smaller places like Adgestone?

Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.

How long does the job take?

It depends on the size of the job, but most jobs take a few hours per room, so whole buildings are phased. We’ll give you a better idea when we quote.

Will the old sealant be removed?

Always. Sealing over the old bead is the commonest cause of early failure, so we never do it.

Can you supply method statements and risk assessments?

Tell us what paperwork your site needs, such as method statements, risk assessments or insurance details, and we will confirm what we can provide when we quote.

Where is Mr Mastic based?

We work from Crawley. Our applicators cover Adgestone, along with the rest of our area.

Will there be a smell?

Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures, and ventilation helps.

Can you start early or work out of hours?

Often, yes. Tell us your opening hours and quiet times, and we will see what can be arranged.

Why act early in Adgestone

A quick bead over the old sealant might get a room back in use today, but silicone doesn’t bond to silicone, so it lifts. One proper reseal beats several quick ones. Older cottages and farmhouses around Adgestone can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.

Leaving a failed joint usually makes the job bigger, not smaller, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are not sure whether it needs doing, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.

Why choose Mr Mastic in Adgestone

  • White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
  • Over 20 years’ experience
  • We agree the colour with you first
  • Old sealant always removed completely

Quotes for commercial sealant in Adgestone

For a quick quote, just ask. What matters most is:

  • Any working-time requirements on site
  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • Whether the work is at height
  • Mould in or behind the old joints

Combining jobs into one visit is usually more efficient than separate visits. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.

What we need to know

Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:

  • Photos by email, if that’s easy
  • If someone has resealed it before
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • Any access issues, like height or stairs

Every job is quoted individually, so the first step is telling us about yours. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the details.

Aftercare tips

Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Plan resealing around quiet periods
  • Pass on the cure time to whoever cleans the rooms
  • Keep extractor fans working and serviced
  • Ask cleaners to go gently on the silicone

Extract fans need to work. In internal bathrooms, a weak or broken fan lets moisture linger, and mould comes back faster without it.

Water from a failed shower seal can travel: into ceilings below, walls next door and service voids. Early resealing keeps it from getting that far.

How the visit works

When we get to you, we check the joints match what you told us. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes anything from a few hours to several days, depending on the number of rooms. In a small place like Adgestone, access is generally the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.

  1. We agree a programme with you: which rooms, in what order, at what times.
  2. Tell us what paperwork your site needs, and we confirm what we can supply before work begins.
  3. Old sealant is cut out room by room and joints cleaned and treated.
  4. We reseal with the right product for each joint.
  5. Rooms are handed back in order, each with its cure time.

Before we arrive

  • On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
  • Clear items away from the joints we are working on
  • Mention any tricky access

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords and agents as well as homeowners. Sealant work between tenants is a simple way to keep a property in good order before the next move-in.

In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so we plan the work room by room. We have worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.

Do you need commercial sealant in Adgestone?

Plenty of commercial bathrooms have no window at all, and where extraction is poor, damp hangs around. Mould then takes hold in the silicone.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Large numbers of bathrooms needing the same work
  • Leaks from showers into rooms or ceilings below
  • Tired sealant ahead of a health and safety audit
  • Sealant failing again soon after quick repairs

If you look after a building such as Brading Church of England Controlled Primary School, sealant in washrooms, kitchens and changing areas can be renewed around term times or opening hours.
