Bathroom resealing in Row Town

Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Row Town

Before a bath is sealed, it’s filled with water. The weight settles the bath to its lowest point, so the bead isn’t stretched the first time someone gets in. It’s a small step that rushed reseals tend to skip. We work on kitchen worktops & upstands, sinks & splashbacks and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are damp behind the bath or under the tray and a joint torn by a bath that flexes.

In a smaller place like Row Town, homes are mostly houses and bungalows rather than flats, from older cottages to newer builds. Bathrooms and kitchens here get the same daily wear as anywhere, and the sealant and grout show it first.

You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Row Town: your questions answered

Do you cover Row Town for bathroom resealing?

Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Row Town is part of that. Just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job.

Do you work for landlords with property near Addlestone station?

Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as homeowners, and several properties can be quoted together. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with the details for a clear quote.

Does someone need to be in?

We need access to the joints, so we’ll agree that with you when we book. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.

Will you leave a mess?

We keep the work tidy. We protect what’s around the joints.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

Silicone is touch-dry quite quickly, but it takes longer to cure. Leave it around 24 hours before it gets wet, or follow the cure time we give you.

Which products do you use?

Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, chosen to suit the joint. We will tell you what we’re using and why.

What colours of sealant can you use?

Most people choose white or clear, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.

Can new silicone go straight over the old?

No, never. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away, because silicone does not bond to silicone. Every trace of the old bead is removed first.

Row Town homes and their sealant

Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

In the older streets around St Paul's, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Rented homes near Addlestone station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

Row Town is about 3 miles west of Weybridge, in Surrey. Across the KT15 area, we can carry out bathroom resealing at your property. We cover 395 towns and villages across Surrey. There’s also a page for London, about 20 miles away.

Work in KT15 works the same way as everywhere else we cover. That includes homes and businesses on Coombe Drive, Franklands Drive and Dickens Drive. We also cover Ottershaw (1 mile west), Woodham (1 mile south), Chertsey (2 miles north), West Byfleet (2 miles south) and Lyne (2 miles north-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Guildford (9 miles south), Woking (4 miles south-west), Camberley (10 miles west), Epsom (10 miles east), Ewell (11 miles east) and Egham (5 miles north).

Around Row Town

Other landmarks nearby include Runnymede Hospital (1.3 miles north-west) and The Hockey Museum (3.8 miles south-west). Green spaces nearby include Abbey Lake and St Ann's Hill.

When it isn’t the sealant

In fairness, there are a few things sealant won’t fix:

  • A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
  • A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
  • Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths

Why deal with it now?

Running new silicone over the old joint can look tidy for a few weeks, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. Water creeps under it and mould follows, so the next person has twice as much to remove. Homes in smaller places like Row Town can face more weather, and failed outside joints let damp into walls. Inside, a split seal lets water into floors and panels just as it would anywhere.

Leaving a failed joint normally makes the job bigger, not smaller, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you an honest view and a quote.

Do you need bathroom resealing in Row Town?

Older sealant shrinks and hardens. In kitchens it often shrinks away from the back edge, opening a hairline gap that lets water and crumbs in. Heat from the hob and strong sprays speed it along.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
  • Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
  • New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
  • Failed sealant on the screen profile

Schools such as Holy Family Catholic Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Landlord and commercial work in Row Town

Letting agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the address, the job and how access works.

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.

What happens on the day

We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we are treating, so you can carry on as normal. The job generally takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go. In a smaller place like Row Town, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. If the job is outside, tell us about side access and how high the joints are.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
  5. We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
  • Let us know about parking restrictions

What the job involves on each surface

Wet rooms

Wet room floors move slightly as they’re used, so the internal corners need silicone rather than grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.

Sinks & splashbacks

Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.

How to look after the new joints

Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:

  • Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
  • Move toiletries away from the joint
  • Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
  • Never pick at the silicone with a blade

Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, which is normally around 24 hours. After that, a quick wipe after showering helps keep it clean.

Watch for the early signs: a corner lifting, a gap behind the bead, a dark line under the silicone or a damp patch on the ceiling below. Any of these means the joint needs attention.
