About our bathroom resealing in Nine Ashes
Homes in Nine Ashes have the same weak spots as anywhere else: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Every joint is cut out, cleaned and left dry before it’s resealed. If you are dealing with water getting behind the bath panel and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop, we can put it right, on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures alike.
Around Nine Ashes, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats. The work is the same as anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.
Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee.

FAQs for Nine Ashes
Is Nine Ashes within the area you cover?
Yes. Nine Ashes is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Ingatestone station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we will give you a clear price.
Is white the only colour available?
You are not limited to white: clear, white and colours chosen to suit the room. We’ll talk it through when we quote.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
The surface skins over fairly quickly, but the bead needs longer to cure right through. Leave it around 24 hours before it gets wet, or follow the cure time we give you.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes. Mould inside the bead rarely cleans out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes. Our one-year guarantee covers every job, and we are fully insured.
What information do you need?
Just the basics: the address or postcode, what’s wrong and any access issues. After that, simply call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes, often alongside a bathroom. Where it’s needed by the sink, we use a food-safe sealant.

Quotes for bathroom resealing in Nine Ashes
We don’t publish a price list. The quote depends on:
- When we can work, for business premises
- Which sealant suits the joint
- The number of rooms or windows
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Helping us quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- Photos by email, if that is easy
- The rough size of the job
- The address or postcode of the job
- How we’d reach the joints
Quotes start with a quick conversation. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job, and we will talk you through what we’d do. When it suits you, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Nine Ashes
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For landlords with property near Ingatestone station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Schools such as Blackmore Primary School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

What we cannot put right
Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what sealant can’t fix:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Where we work in Nine Ashes
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
How the job changes by surface
Basins & vanity units
The back of a basin gets wet every time someone washes. Old sealant there often goes black at the corners, and we treat it exactly as we would a bath.
Sinks & splashbacks
The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. We reseal the visible edge of the sink where it has failed.
What we’re called out for in Nine Ashes
Sealing over old silicone is one of the commonest mistakes we find. Fresh silicone can’t grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
If you live in an older home near Church of St Laurence, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

How the visit works
Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. In total, it usually takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. Somewhere as small as Nine Ashes, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Move anything stored near the joints
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in

DIY sealant or a professional job?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
