Bathroom resealing for Moreton homes and businesses

How the job changes by surface

Kitchen worktops & upstands

Worktop joints get wet and wiped every day. The new bead is colour-matched where it shows, so the line does not stand out.

Sinks & splashbacks

Next to the sink, the sealant has to cope with constant water, including a food-safe sealant where that is needed. The bead is finished smooth so it wipes clean.

Bathroom resealing in Moreton, done properly

With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Moreton. We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. We work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and sinks & splashbacks, and common reasons people get in touch are two layers of silicone, both failing and sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away.

Being in a small place like Moreton makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

DIY sealant or a professional job?

The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.

Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs call for the right materials, safe access and experience.

When something else is needed

Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we will tell you before any work starts. Sealant won’t put right:

  • Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
  • A leaking waste, trap or valve
  • A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)

If you’re not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we seal

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

Aftercare tips

Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:

  • Give the silicone its full cure time
  • Don’t let bottles sit on the bead
  • Dry the bead with a towel now and then
  • Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner

Don’t stand bottles along the bead, because they trap water against the silicone. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use helps the joint dry.

A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.

Why it’s worth doing now in Moreton

Bleach and mould sprays may lighten black marks for a while, but mould that has grown into the sealant tends to return. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts. Around Moreton, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.

Leaving a failed joint normally makes the job bigger, not smaller, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

Do you need bathroom resealing in Moreton?

Sealant laid on a damp, dusty or greasy joint never bonds properly. Traces of soap, bath oil and old sealant stop it gripping, so a rushed job can start to lift early.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Failed sealant on the screen profile
  • Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
  • Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
  • Water getting behind the bath panel

If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

What your quote should include

  • How long to leave it before use
  • How long the guarantee is
  • What product goes in the joint
  • Whether you can choose the colour

There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Moreton. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. What happens on the day

Most of a good job is in the preparation, and we do not rush it. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. In total, it normally takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. In a small place like Moreton, access is generally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about any water getting in
  • Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
