With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Heckfield. We’re fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. Common call-outs are for a joint torn by a bath that flexes and water getting behind the bath panel, on baths, kitchen worktops & upstands and shower trays & enclosures.

Around Heckfield, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Heckfield

Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

If you look after a building such as Daneshill School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Letting a property close to Mortimer station? Then a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.

Heckfield is about 6 miles west of Yateley, in Hampshire. Every kind of property in Heckfield can book us for bathroom resealing, old or new, large or small. The work is guaranteed for a year. Sinks & splashbacks

The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. We reseal the visible edge of the sink where it has failed.

Basins & vanity units

Basin joints are short and close to eye level: so we keep the line tidy and even, in white, clear or a colour to suit.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we will give you a quote.

Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report. Several properties can go on one quote.

Do you need bathroom resealing in Heckfield?

Silicone doesn’t last for ever. Daily water, heat and cleaning products slowly wear it down, so its life depends on how the room is used, cleaned and aired.

The problems people usually mention when they call include:

  • Water getting behind the bath panel
  • Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
  • Smears of silicone across the tiles
  • New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting

If you live in an older home near Church of St Michael, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

What your quote should include

  • What the quote includes, VAT included or not
  • Whether they’re fully insured
  • What preparation is included

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Heckfield

I let a flat near Mortimer station. Can you help?

Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as homeowners, and several properties can go on one quote. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the details for a clear quote.

Do you cover smaller places like Heckfield?

Yes. Heckfield is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Where do you work from?

Mr Mastic is based in Crawley. Our applicators cover Heckfield, along with the rest of our area.

Do you take out the old sealant first?

Yes, every time. New sealant will not bond properly to old, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.

Are you ARBOMaster approved?

Yes. We are an ARBOMaster approved applicator, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.

Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?

Yes. We reseal worktop upstands, sinks and splashbacks, in a kitchen-suitable sealant, matched to the worktop where it’s on show.

Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?

No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. We cut out all of the old sealant, clean the joint and start again.

How do I get a quote for bathroom resealing in Heckfield?

The cost depends on the size of the job, access and how much old sealant has to come out. Ask us for a quote and we will talk you through it.

DIY sealant or a professional job?

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, then guaranteed for a year.

Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.

How it works

On the day, we look over the joints with you first, so there are no surprises. Surfaces next to the work are protected before we start. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. For a village or hamlet like Heckfield, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
  5. We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention if the joints have been sealed before
  • Move anything stored near the joints
  • Mention any tricky access

What sealant work can’t fix

We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
  • Tiles that have come away from the wall
  • A tray or bath that’s cracked through

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Aftercare tips

Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:

  • Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
  • Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
  • Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
  • Use gentle cleaners on the silicone

Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, following the cure time we give you. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.

Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Resealing early stops it.
