Bathroom Resealing in East Ilsley
Our applicators work in East Ilsley on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly.
- Black mould in the silicone that won’t clean off
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
How we handle bathroom resealing in East Ilsley
Sealant that’s mouldy, cracked or peeling is worth sorting before it lets water through. A photo of the joints helps when you ring 0345 464 0079 or email us, and we’ll send you a clear quote before any work starts. If you have leaking joints on a shower screen and a reseal done over the top of the old bead, we can put it right.
Being in a small place like East Ilsley makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Leave it or put it right?
Most of the work in a good reseal happens before any silicone goes on: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Skip those steps and even the best silicone fails early. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like East Ilsley, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: how much there is to do, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Ask us for a quote and we will go through it with you.

What else we do in East Ilsley
Can I do it myself?
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.

What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
You’ll get a clear quote before any work starts. It takes into account:
- The amount of work
- The number of rooms or windows
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
Doing several joints on one visit normally makes better use of the time than several visits. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.
What we need to know
To make quoting easier, please include:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Photos by email, if that’s easy

How to look after the new joints
How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Wait for the cure time we give you
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, following the cure time we give you. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.
How the visit works
We work through the job in order: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. For most jobs that takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen and we leave things clean and tidy. In a small place like East Ilsley, access is generally the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
Preparing for the visit
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Mention any tricky access
- Clear the area around the work

What we cannot put right
We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Sinks & splashbacks
Bathrooms and kitchens in East Ilsley
There are hotels and other places to stay in and around East Ilsley. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Managing a site like The Ilsleys Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
