Bathroom & kitchen resealing in Castle Green, Surrey
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for homes and businesses in Castle Green and across Surrey. Fully insured, ARBOMaster approved and guaranteed for a year.
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
What sealant work can’t fix
New sealant can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint

About our bathroom resealing in Castle Green
The secret of a lasting bead is the preparation. Every bit of old silicone comes out, down to the thin film left on the tiles, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. Common call-outs are for new sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal, on baths, wet rooms and sinks & splashbacks.
Somewhere as small as Castle Green, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, whatever its size.

Castle Green homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Castle Green
Do you cover Castle Green for bathroom resealing?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Castle Green is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job.
Will you come out to Castle Green?
Yes. Castle Green is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
White, clear and a range of colours are available. Where the joint is on show, we match it to the surface.
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes, a 12-month guarantee. Looking after the joint as we suggest helps it last.
Do you take out the old sealant first?
Yes, every time. New silicone does not stick to old silicone, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. To get one, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with a short description of the job.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Let us know what needs doing and where. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
Do I have to be there?
It depends on the job. Inside work needs someone to give us access, while outside work can sometimes be arranged differently.
Why deal with it now?
Most of the work in a good reseal happens before any silicone goes on: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Skip those steps and even the best silicone fails early. Around Castle Green, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You will know the price before we begin.

How to look after the new joints
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
Clean the silicone with care: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
There’s no need to wait for a full refurbishment. Like paintwork, sealant needs renewing from time to time, and replacing it when it fails protects the rest of the room.

DIY versus a professional finish
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again, so just mention it when you contact us.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
How the visit works
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Show us the job and we’ll take it from there. The work itself takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. In a small place like Castle Green, access is usually the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises

Advice
Do you need bathroom resealing in Castle Green?
Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
In the older streets around Church of St Lawrence, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
Questions to ask before booking

Surface by surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Kitchen joints need more degreasing than bathroom ones, since cooking leaves a film that stops silicone sticking. Proper degreasing is what helps the new joint last.
Wet rooms
Wet rooms rely on sound joints at floor and wall junctions. They get anti-fungal sanitary silicone, working on the surface joints, not the tanking or drainage.
