Baths, showers and worktops in Beaulieu need attention? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, and the work is guaranteed for a year.

- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
About our bathroom resealing in Beaulieu
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Beaulieu. We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. We work on basins & vanity units, baths and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are a bead that has pulled away from the tiles and gaps where the bath or tray has moved.
Homes around Beaulieu are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
Big or small, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee.

Beaulieu questions
Will you come out to Beaulieu?
Yes. Beaulieu is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Can you do bathroom resealing in Beaulieu?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Beaulieu is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and let us know what needs doing.
Where are you based?
Our base is Crawley, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No. It’s a common reason for reseals failing. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
A single bath or shower takes about a couple of hours, old sealant removal included. A full bathroom and kitchen can take most of a day.
Can you reseal around my kitchen sink and worktop?
Yes. Worktops, sinks and splashbacks are all part of the job, in a kitchen-suitable sealant, matched to the worktop where it’s on show.
What sealant do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
What should I tell you?
Just the basics: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Aftercare tips
How long the joints last depends on use and care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
- Give the silicone its full cure time
Have a look at the joints every few months. Small splits and lifting ends are easy to catch early, so if something doesn’t look right, just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
What happens on the day
You don’t need to clear the whole room or building, only the area right around the joints. We protect the rest, and the job takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom for a typical job. For a village or hamlet like Beaulieu, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
How to prepare
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Mention any tricky access
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before

Basins & vanity units
Basin joints are short and close to eye level: the bead is right in front of you, so it’s tooled cleanly and evenly, in white, clear or a colour to suit.
Baths
Acrylic baths flex the most, while steel and cast iron baths move less but still settle when full. Filling the bath first allows for that movement.

When to call us in Beaulieu
A bath shifts a little every time it’s filled and emptied. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, and a tray that isn’t fully bedded can rock. Over time the joint tears or pulls away from the tile.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
Schools such as Beaulieu Village Primary School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Beaulieu homes and their sealant
Beaulieu is close to the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you live in an older home near Church of the Blessed Virgin and Child, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. For landlords with property near Beaulieu Road station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
When it is not the sealant
In fairness, there are a few things sealant will not fix:
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that is regrouting)
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will say what we think.

What happens if it’s left?
A failed joint gets more costly to put right the longer it’s left. Once water is behind the bath, it can reach floorboards, panels and the ceiling underneath, and that’s a far bigger job than a reseal. Around Beaulieu, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs. Call for a quick quote and we will go through it with you.
