Remedial sealant & repairs in Stockbridge, Hampshire
Remedial sealant across Stockbridge and nearby, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a 12-month guarantee.
- Mould trapped under a layer of silicone
- Caulk or the wrong sealant used in a wet area
- Thick, messy sealant smeared over tiles
Different surfaces, different methods
Windows & doors
A frame that keeps leaking may not be the mastic. We check the joint and tell you if it looks to be something else.
Mouldy bath & shower sealant
Where mould keeps coming back, ventilation is usually part of the cause. Along with resealing, we will mention if the room needs better ventilation.
Remedial sealant for homes and businesses in Stockbridge
If a joint has been resealed and is leaking again, it’s worth a proper look. It helps to have photos when you ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email. Typical jobs include beads that never stuck properly and worktop sealant that has shrunk and split, on failed movement joints, botched or over-sealed joints and shrunken worktop sealant.
Somewhere as small as Stockbridge, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee in Stockbridge and across Hampshire.

For landlords and businesses
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report, and it’s quick to put right between tenancies. Several properties can be quoted together.

Why deal with it now?
Remedial work takes longer than a straight reseal, but rarely a lot: the work takes a few hours for a typical bath or shower, longer where several layers have been applied. It’s far less disruption than resealing the same joint again and again. Older cottages and farmhouses around Stockbridge can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
The cost depends on how much there is to do, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. You will have a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

When it is not the sealant
We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Sealant in an older building that needs testing for asbestos first
- Cracks in the fitting rather than the joint
- Movement from fittings that aren’t supported
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will tell you honestly.
Surfaces we seal
- Failed movement joints
- Leaking tray & enclosure joints
- Mouldy bath & shower sealant

The process
Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, do the work and clear up. It normally takes a few hours, depending on how many layers have to come out. In a small place like Stockbridge, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We look at how the sealant has failed and check for movement or a leak path.
- Every layer of old sealant is cut and cleaned out.
- The joint is cleaned, treated for mould and left to dry.
- Where the joint moves, backing and a flexible sealant suited to the movement go in.
- The new joint is tooled neatly and we explain anything else we found.

What remedial sealant looks like in Stockbridge
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings. There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Stockbridge. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Peter, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Schools such as Stockbridge Primary & Pre-School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Stockbridge questions
Do you work in hotels near Stockbridge?
Yes, hospitality work, including hotels, is part of what we do. Work can be planned room by room, and out-of-hours working can be arranged.
Do you cover Stockbridge for remedial sealant?
Yes, Stockbridge is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and let us know what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Which products do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference.
Do you fix expansion and movement joints?
Yes. The depth is set with backing so the sealant only bonds to the two sides, which lets it stretch.
What if resealing won’t fix my leak?
We’ll tell you. If it’s a cracked tray, a failed valve or a leaking waste, resealing will not fix it, and we won’t reseal for the sake of it.
Do I need to be at home?
For indoor joints, yes, someone needs to let us in. Once we’ve agreed the job, you don’t need to watch us work.
Do you offer different sealant colours?
In most cases you can choose. We will tell you which colours the right product comes in and agree one before work begins.
Can you strip sealant from an acrylic tray safely?
Yes. We cut and lift the old sealant with tools suited to the surface, then clean off the residue. We point out any damage that is already there.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
What affects the quote in Stockbridge
For a quick quote, just ask. What matters most is:
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- The size of the job
- Whether the work is at height
- The number of rooms or windows
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are not sure whether it needs doing, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us for an honest opinion and a quote.
What to tell us for a quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
