Runwell Regrouting
Regrouting across Runwell and nearby, with old sealant always removed completely and a 12-month guarantee.
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Stained grout that cleaning will not shift
- Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
Regrouting in Runwell, done properly
We regroute showers, bathroom walls and floors, splashbacks and wet rooms. It can be a full room, others just the shower. Whatever the size, the method stays the same. We work on kitchen splashbacks, shower walls and tiled floors, and the jobs we see most are stained grout that cleaning won’t shift and grout washed out of a shower.
Around Runwell, you’ll mostly find houses and bungalows, from older cottages to newer builds. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do in a big town.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we’ll sort it.

Runwell homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Rented homes near Wickford station change hands often, and clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. Homes close to Church of St Mary include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
Runwell is about 1 mile north of Wickford, in Essex. Across the SS11 area, we can carry out regrouting at your property. Our area takes in 644 places across Essex. Our Chelmsford page covers work nearby (8 miles or so).
Here we cover the SS11 postcode area for regrouting. We cover properties on Church End Lane, Viking Way and Canewdon Gardens. Nearby, we also carry out regrouting in Wickford (1 mile south), Brock Hill (1 mile north-west), Shotgate (2 miles south-east), Battlesbridge (2 miles east) and South Hanningfield (2 miles north). We also work in nearby towns such as Chelmsford (8 miles north), Basildon (5 miles south-west), Brentwood (9 miles west), Maldon (10 miles north-east), Canvey Island (7 miles south) and Billericay (4 miles west).

Landlord and commercial work in Runwell
Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance that we can handle for you.
Common questions in Runwell
I let a flat near Wickford station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Do you cover Runwell for regrouting?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Runwell is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Which products do you use?
Quality sealants from brands including Arbo and Everbuild, picked for each joint. We will tell you what we are using and why.
What should I tell you?
Tell us what needs doing and where, plus pictures if you have them. If we need more, we’ll ask.
Do you grout the corners?
We use silicone in corners and along edges. Grout in a moving joint soon cracks.
Is resealing included with regrouting?
Yes, in most cases. New grout beside old sealant wouldn’t look right and wouldn’t keep water out.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned.
Will it make a mess?
Tidy work is part of the job. We protect what’s around the joints, and we clear up when we are done.
When to call us in Runwell
A bathroom that stays damp keeps the grout wet, and damp grout is where mould grows. When black spots keep returning, the mould has normally got into the grout.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
- Grout washed out of a shower
If you look after a building such as Runwell Community Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
Comparing quotes
- Which colour the sealant will be
- How much experience the applicator has
- When the joint can take water or movement
- How long the guarantee is
The process
We work through the job in order: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. For most jobs that takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area and we leave things clean and tidy. In a smaller place like Runwell, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. For outside work, side access and the height of the joints help us plan.
- First, we check for loose or hollow tiles and point out any we find.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear items away from the joints we are working on
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Tell us about any water getting in

What the job involves on each surface
Shower walls
Most regrouting jobs include a shower. Gaps here let water get behind the tiling.
Wet rooms
New grout in a wet room keeps the surface sound. It does not repair failed tanking underneath.

Honest limits
New sealant can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t solve:
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- A leaking shower valve or waste
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Should I try it myself first?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it does not work out, we can still put it right.
What affects the cost of regrouting
Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- Working hours on commercial sites
- The number and length of the joints
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Any mould that needs treating
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed. Ask us for a quote and we’ll go through it with you.
What we need to know
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:
- The address or postcode of the job
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- The type of property
We quote each job on its own. Simply ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and describe the job.
