Hudnall Regrouting
Tiled areas in Hudnall need attention? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Stained grout that cleaning will not shift
Regrouting in Hudnall
Grout fills the gaps between tiles, while sealant goes where tiles meet a bath, tray or worktop. When grout cracks or washes out, water has a way in behind the tiling. We rake it out and replace it, then reseal the corners and edges. Typical jobs include old grout in a dated colour and grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned, on bathroom floors, shower walls and bathroom wall tiles.
Somewhere as small as Hudnall, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, in Hudnall and everywhere else we cover.

A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- A leaking shower valve or waste
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- Tiles that are chipped or split

Common problems we fix in Hudnall
Grout used in corners or along the bath cracks as the bath or tray moves. Those joints should be silicone, and when they are not, water gets in.
Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:
- Floor grout that won’t come clean
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Old grout in a dated colour
- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
If you let a flat or house near Berkhamsted station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

Common questions in Hudnall
Can you do regrouting in Hudnall?
Yes, Hudnall is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job.
Do you work for landlords with property near Berkhamsted station?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Which products do you use?
Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, chosen to suit the joint. We will tell you what we’re using and why.
Does someone need to be in?
Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. Indoors, that normally means someone at home.
Is it possible to regrout only the shower area?
We can. We’ll check the other tiled areas as well and let you know if more needs doing.
What information do you need?
A short description and the location, plus photos if you have them. We will ask anything else we need to know.
Is the work guaranteed?
You get our 12-month guarantee on every job, and we are fully insured.
Should corners be grouted or sealed?
Flexible sealant. Grout is for the joints between tiles and moving joints need sealant.
Leave it or put it right?
Cleaning products may brighten grout for a time, but mould that has got into grout generally comes back. New grout, with silicone in the corners, deals with the cause. In a small place like Hudnall, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
The cost reflects the work involved, not a rough estimate. That is why we ask a few questions first and give you a clear quote before we start.

Can I do it myself?
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen splashbacks
We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The worktop edge is finished with silicone.
Bathroom wall tiles
Tiles away from the shower stay drier but still stain and crack. Regrouting brings them back in line.
Keeping the joints in good condition
A little care helps the new joints last. We recommend:
- Check the corner silicone every few months
- Keep the fan on after showering
- Have loose tiles looked at early
- Rinse the tiles after showering
Keep an eye on the silicone in the corners. It’s the part that moves, so it’s generally the first thing to need attention, long before the grout does.
Grout that stays dark after cleaning is starting to fail. Regrouting at this stage is straightforward while the tiles are still sound.
