- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Splashback grout that has darkened
About our regrouting in Hastingleigh
Our applicators rake out the old grout to an even depth, without damaging the edges of the tiles. The joints are then vacuumed, regrouted and cleaned off, and the corners get fresh silicone. We work on tiled floors, kitchen splashbacks and bathroom floors, and common reasons people get in touch are grout in a colour the owner wants to change and gaps where the shower grout has gone.
Around Hastingleigh, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats. The work is the same as anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job.

Regrouting around Hastingleigh
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Homes close to Church of St Mary include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Schools such as Bodsham Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Signs you need regrouting in Hastingleigh
Soap scum and limescale build up on grout and stick to it. In time the grout under it darkens and breaks down, which is when replacing it makes sense.
Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Old grout in a dated colour
Letting a property close to Wye station? Then clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.
What to look for in a quote
- Is VAT in the price?
- What the cure time is
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- How hidden problems are handled
What affects the quote in Hastingleigh
There’s no set price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- The size of the job
- The type of sealant required
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.
What to tell us for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can tell us:
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- If someone has resealed it before
- The type of property
- The rough size of the job
Asking for a quote is easy: tell us what needs doing and where and its rough size. Photos by email help us understand the job, and we will take it from there.
FAQs for Hastingleigh
Do you cover smaller places like Hastingleigh?
Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Do you cover Hastingleigh for regrouting?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Hastingleigh is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us what needs doing, and we will send you a clear quote.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. We can talk about working times when we quote.
Do you take out the old sealant first?
Yes, always, and completely. New silicone does not stick to old silicone, so the joint is cleaned back first.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Just the basics: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. After that, simply call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No. New silicone won’t bond to old silicone, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. It all has to come out first.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often happy for the work to be arranged.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
Corners get silicone, not grout. They move slightly, and grout there cracks.
When it isn’t the sealant
Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what new sealant won’t do:
- A leaking shower valve or waste
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Shower walls
- Tiled floors
- Bathroom wall tiles
- Bathroom floors
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen splashbacks
Keeping the joints in good condition
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Do not use strong acidic cleaners on grout
- Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
If a tile starts to feel loose, get it looked at early. A loose tile cracks the grout around it and open a path for water.
Cracked grout does not stay cracked for long. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away, so regrouting early can save a retile.
How the job changes by surface
Shower walls
Shower walls get wet every day, so its grout takes the most punishment. It usually fails first.
Bathroom floors
New floor grout makes a big difference to how a bathroom looks. Floor-to-wall and bath joints are sealed, not grouted.
Can I do it myself?
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
What we do, step by step
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can get on with your day. The job usually takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go. Somewhere like Hastingleigh needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- Dust is cleared from every joint.
- The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
- We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.
How to prepare
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
