How the job changes by surface
Bathroom floors
Floor grout takes foot traffic as well as water. It wears and darkens over time.
Wet rooms
Wet rooms have water across the floor, so good grout is important. We check the tiles first.
Regrouting in Bonar Bridge, done properly
A grout colour change can freshen a room without retiling. Light grout can go darker to hide marks, or the other way round. Just mention the colour you’d like when you email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and bathroom floors, and the jobs we see most are grout washed out of a shower and crumbling grout between the tiles.
For a place like Bonar Bridge, the job is the same as anywhere: everything old is cut out, the joints are cleaned and dried, and new sealant or grout goes in. We just plan the journey and access beforehand.
Our work is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

What else we do in Bonar Bridge
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we’ll give you a quote.
If you manage several properties in or around Bonar Bridge, jobs at different addresses can be quoted together. Send us the addresses and the work at each.
What affects the cost of regrouting
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- Whether the work is at height
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- Working hours on commercial sites
- The product the joint needs
Leaving a failed joint normally makes the job bigger, not smaller. If you are unsure, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you an honest view and a quote.
What we need to know
You do not need to know the technical terms. It helps if you can tell us:
- The address or postcode of the job
- The rough size of the job
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- How we’d reach the joints
For a quick quote, get us on the phone, or send an email if you’d rather. Describe what needs sealing and we’ll talk you through the work before giving you a price.
Bonar Bridge homes and their sealant
Bonar Bridge is within about 1 mile of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Scottish Water supplies are generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black.
Rented homes near Ardgay station change hands often, and stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.
Bonar Bridge is about 28 miles north-west of Nairn, in Highland. From the centre of Bonar Bridge to the outskirts, regrouting is available for homes and businesses alike, from flats and houses to offices and hotels. 253 places in Highland are on our list, large and small.
We cover every part of IV24 for regrouting. You will find streets such as Migdale Road, Gilmour Crescent and Swordale Crescent. Nearby, we also carry out regrouting in Ardgay (1 mile south-west), Lower Gledfield (1 mile south-west), Spinningdale (4 miles east), Whiteface (6 miles east) and Edderton (7 miles south-east). Further out, we also cover Tain (12 miles south-east), Alness (14 miles south), Dornoch (12 miles east), Invergordon (15 miles south-east) and Golspie (15 miles east). For island and remote addresses, the job takes a little more planning, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

Can I do it myself?
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again, so just mention it when you contact us.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.
Signs you need regrouting in Bonar Bridge
Strong cleaning products and hard scrubbing slowly erode grout. Bleach and acidic limescale removers can attack it over time, until the joints are rough and low.
The problems people usually mention when they call are:
- Grout stained black or orange that will not clean
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
In the older streets around Creich Church of Scotland Parish Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
What to look for in a quote
- Are they insured?
- What product goes in the joint
- What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
- Who turns up on the day
What happens if it’s left?
It’s tempting to fill a few cracks yourself, but patched grout rarely matches the rest, and the old grout keeps failing around them. Doing the full area gives you one colour and sound joints throughout. When the nearest tradesperson is a drive away, it’s tempting to leave a small leak, but water behind a failed seal does the most damage when nobody’s watching.
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. Call for a quick quote and we will talk you through it.

How the visit works
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we’re treating. Expect the work to take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room, and we explain the cure time before we leave. In smaller Scottish places, parking is normally less of an issue than access and distance. Tell us how to find the property and how to reach the work.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- We rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care of the tile edges.
- Dust and debris are vacuumed out of every joint.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- The corners and edges get new silicone, because grout there would crack.
How to prepare
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed

Advice
Bonar Bridge: your questions answered
Is Bonar Bridge within the area you cover?
Yes, Bonar Bridge is covered. We work across all of Scotland, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Do you work for landlords with property near Ardgay station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us about the property, and we will send you a clear quote.
Which products do you use?
Each joint gets the product that suits it. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. We’ve worked for hotels, offices and other businesses.
What if some of my tiles are loose?
Regrouting won’t fix loose tiles. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting, so you can decide what to do.
Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?
Yes, plenty of people choose to. A darker grout hides marks better and lighter grout gives a fresher look.
Is there any odour?
There can be a smell while the sealant cures, which fades as it sets. Opening a window helps.
Will it make a mess?
Tidy work is part of the job. We protect what’s around the joints, and we clear up when we are done.
