Welfare facilities
Before a health and safety visit or audit, tired sealant is easy to sort. Let us know when it needs to be done and we’ll schedule around it, cure time included.
Office washrooms & kitchens
Kitchen and tea point joints are degreased and resealed, using a food-safe sealant by sinks where it’s needed.
Commercial sealant in Peterhead, done properly
Staff facilities can’t be out of action for long. We can plan the work for early mornings or out of hours so the working day is disturbed as little as possible. You’re told when each area can be used again. If you have too many rooms to reseal without closing the building and sealant failing again soon after quick repairs, we can help, whatever the surface.
Scotland has its own building regulations, the Building (Scotland) Regulations, and fire-rated sealant has to go in to the manufacturer’s tested details. Whether it’s a hotel, a school or an office in Peterhead, that’s how it’s fitted.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, in Peterhead and everywhere else we cover.

How it works
The work is kept neat and contained to the area we’re working on, so you can get on with your day. Expect the work to take a few hours per area, with larger sites planned over several visits, and we explain the cure time before we leave. A visit in Peterhead needs three things planned: access, parking and where the work is. Outside work depends on the weather, as sealant needs a dry surface.
- The first visit is a look round the site to agree the scope.
- We agree when we will work, with early or out-of-hours slots where they can be arranged.
- Each area is protected and stripped of old sealant.
- Joints are dried, then resealed and tooled neatly.
- We let your team know the cure time for every area.
Getting ready for the visit
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Mention any tricky access

Signs you need commercial sealant in Peterhead
Plenty of commercial bathrooms have no window at all, so if the fan is weak, steam lingers and the sealant stays damp. Mould then takes hold in the silicone.
The most common problems we see are:
- Black, stained silicone in guest bathrooms
- Water marks on ceilings under bathrooms
- Split sealant where wet room floors meet walls
- Rental bathrooms that need resealing between tenants
Around Peterhead, as everywhere, commercial sealant is only as good as the preparation behind it.

What affects the cost of commercial sealant
Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:
- Access and height
- The type of sealant required
- When we can work, for business premises
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part.
Asking for a quote
To help us quote quickly, please include:
- The rough size of the job
- The type of property
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- The problem you’ve noticed
There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
How to look after the new joints
Looking after new joints is easy:
- Keep a record of which rooms were resealed and when
- Act on lifting sealant before it leaks
- Check the joints during routine room inspections
- Keep extractor fans working and serviced
A squeegee in each shower is a simple help: walls and trays dry faster, and so does the sealant.
Water from a failed shower seal can travel: into ceilings below, walls next door and service voids. Early resealing keeps it from getting that far.

Commercial sealant in Peterhead: local notes
If you run a hotel, guest house or holiday let in a coastal place like Peterhead, heavy use in the busy months is hard on washroom and kitchen sealant, and any building work there should leave fire-rated joints made good. Private landlords in Scotland must meet the Repairing Standard, and keeping sealant sound across a portfolio is part of that.
Whether the job is in Peterhead itself or nearby, the right material for each joint matters as much as a neat finish.

Honest limits
We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Poor ventilation that keeps bringing mould back
- Certifying fire stopping or building compliance
- Cracked trays or baths rather than failed joints

Should I try it myself first?
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
Peterhead: your questions answered
Is commercial sealant in Peterhead guaranteed?
Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, wherever it is. We’re also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Do you work for hotels and guest houses in Peterhead?
Yes, we work for hotels as well as homes and businesses. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator and we’re fully insured too.
Can you match the sealant colour?
Generally, yes. White, clear and grey are common, and other colours are available for many products, and we will agree it with you first.
Can you send RAMS and insurance details for our site?
Let us know which documents your site needs, for example RAMS or insurance details, and we’ll confirm what we can supply with the quote.
Should I try DIY first?
It depends on the job. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.
Does someone need to be in?
That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we’ll agree access with you when we book.
Will you leave a mess?
No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
