Why act early in Ockford Ridge

A leaking shower in a hotel room or flat above can damage the ceiling below. That means a second room out of use and a repair to pay for. Resealing first is the smaller job. In a small place like Ockford Ridge, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you are unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

Do you need commercial sealant in Ockford Ridge?

Commercial bathrooms get far more use than domestic ones, and they’re cleaned with strong products every day. So the silicone ages faster than it would at home.

The problems people normally mention when they call are:

  • Joints that need doing before an inspection or audit
  • Split sealant around staff kitchen worktops and sinks
  • Rental bathrooms that need resealing between tenants
  • Mouldy washroom sealant that staff and guests notice

If you let a flat or house near Milford (Surrey) station, several rental properties can be resealed on one programme.

What to look for in a quote

  • How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
  • How long to leave it before use
  • Whether they seal over old material or remove it
  • How hidden problems are handled

Choosing a sealant specialist

Keeping the joints in good condition

How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:

  • Keep extractor fans working and serviced
  • Plan resealing around quiet periods
  • Note the date each area was done
  • Do not leave a failed joint until the next refurbishment

Squeegees in guest and staff showers help: less water sits on the joints between uses.

Watch for the warning signs: mould, splits, peeling corners or water marks downstairs. Any of these means the joints need attention.

Ockford Ridge questions

Do you cover Ockford Ridge for commercial sealant?

Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Ockford Ridge is part of that. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear price.

Will you come out to Ockford Ridge?

Yes, Ockford Ridge is covered. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.

Will there be a smell?

Some sealants have a smell while they cure, but it fades. Opening a window helps.

Do you offer different sealant colours?

We’ll suggest a colour to suit the surroundings. The choice depends on the product the joint needs.

Can new sealant go over the old?

No. Fresh sealant does not stick to old sealant, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. It all has to come out first.

Does commercial work come with a guarantee?

Yes. Our one-year guarantee covers commercial work too.

Do you take out the old sealant first?

Yes. We cut out all the old sealant and clean the joint before resealing.

Are you an approved applicator?

Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status and we are fully insured too.

Advice

Can I do it myself?

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
