Longcross Bathroom Resealing
Baths, showers and worktops in Longcross need attention? We remove the old material, prepare the joints and seal them properly.
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Smears of silicone across the tiles
- Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
Bathroom resealing in Longcross, done properly
Sealant is the soft line between a bath, shower or worktop and the wall. Once it cracks or goes mouldy, water starts to find its way through. Every trace of the old sealant is taken out and replaced with anti-fungal sanitary silicone. If you have lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Being in a small place like Longcross makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Big or small, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee.

Do you need bathroom resealing in Longcross?
Sealing over old silicone is one of the commonest mistakes we find. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
If you live in an older home near Longcross Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
What your quote should include
- How much experience the applicator has
- What the cure time is
- Which colour the sealant will be
- Whether the sealant suits the joint

How the visit works
Most of a good job is in the preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. In total, it normally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. For a village or hamlet like Longcross, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Getting ready for the visit

Longcross: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Longcross?
Yes. Longcross is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Do you work for landlords with property near Longcross station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Can I do it myself?
Some simple jobs can be done by a careful DIYer. Most DIY failures come from sealing over old material, wet joints or too much sealant.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. We give a 12-month guarantee on every job, and we’re ARBOMaster approved applicators.
Where do you work from?
We’re based in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. Worktops, sinks and splashbacks are all part of the job, with a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows.
Keeping the joints in good condition
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Wait for the cure time we give you
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, which is generally around 24 hours. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.
Longcross homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Rented homes near Longcross station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
Jobs vary more than people expect. The main factors:
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- How many areas need sealing
- How easy the joints are to reach
- The amount of work
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.
Helping us quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Where the property is
We don’t publish a price list. Instead, we send you a clear quote for your job. To arrange one, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
What happens if it’s left?
Bleach and mould sprays may lighten black marks for a while, but mould that has grown into the sealant tends to return. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts. Older cottages and farmhouses around Longcross can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we’ll explain what it covers.
