About our bathroom resealing in Dyer's End

Showers work their sealant harder than baths. Trays, enclosures, screen profiles and wet room floors all need a flexible, waterproof seal. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. We’re often asked to deal with smears of silicone across the tiles and cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone, on basins & vanity units, sinks & splashbacks and baths.

Being in a small place like Dyer's End makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.

You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Dyer's End: your questions answered

Is there a guarantee on bathroom resealing in Dyer's End?

Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, wherever it is. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Do you cover smaller places like Dyer's End?

Yes, Dyer's End is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.

Does someone need to be in?

We need access to the joints, so we will agree that with you when we book. Indoors, that normally means someone at home.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we tidy up before we go.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Should I try DIY first?

Sometimes. The key is preparation: remove all the old material and work on a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Using it sooner can damage the bead.

Is there any odour?

Some sealants have a smell while they cure. Ventilation helps.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Dyer's End

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.

We work for landlords and letting agents as well as householders. Sealant work between tenants keeps a property looking cared for.

How it works

Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that’s where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. All told, the work takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. Somewhere like Dyer's End needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
  2. The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
  3. The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
  4. When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
  5. We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.

Getting ready for the visit

  • For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
  • Let us know about parking restrictions
  • Move anything stored near the joints

Advice

How we quote for bathroom resealing

There’s no set price list. The quote depends on:

  • The number of rooms or windows
  • Working hours on commercial sites
  • Which sealant suits the joint
  • Access and height

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

What to tell us for a quote

To help us quote quickly, let us know:

  • Roughly how big the job is
  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email
  • Whether it’s a home or a business

There’s no standard price list. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

What we can’t put right

Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what sealant can’t fix:

  • Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
  • Tiles that have come away from the wall
  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we seal

  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Sinks & splashbacks

Keeping the joints in good condition

Looking after new joints is easy:

  • Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
  • Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
  • Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
  • Use gentle cleaners on the silicone

In a kitchen, don’t let water sit along the back of the worktop and keep hot pans away from the silicone. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.

Worktop joints fail quietly. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, and the board underneath can swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.

Can I do it myself?

Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.

Leave it or put it right?

A failed joint gets more costly to put right the longer it’s left. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, turning a small job into a building repair. Around Dyer's End, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.

Around Dyer's End, as everywhere, bathroom resealing is only as good as the preparation behind it. If you live in an older home near Parish Church of St Peter and St Thomas, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
