Beenham Stocks Bathroom Resealing
Bathroom resealing for Beenham Stocks and the surrounding area: careful preparation, the right product and tidy work. Call for a quick quote.
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
- Smears of silicone across the tiles
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
When to call us in Beenham Stocks
Silicone needs a clean, dry surface without any grease to stick to. Traces of soap, bath oil and old sealant stop it gripping, and a joint that looked fine soon begins to come away.
The most common problems we see are:
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
If you look after a building such as Beenham Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

How we handle bathroom resealing in Beenham Stocks
Before a bath is sealed, it’s filled with water. The weight settles the bath to its lowest point, so the new joint is not pulled apart the first time it’s used. It’s a small step that rushed reseals tend to skip. We are often asked to deal with gaps between the worktop and the wall and smears of silicone across the tiles, across baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures.
For a small place like Beenham Stocks, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

Honest limits
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t solve:
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Surfaces we seal
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Basins & vanity units
- Sinks & splashbacks
Looking after it afterwards
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Don’t let bottles sit on the bead
Mould needs damp, so keep the room aired. Run the extractor fan during and after a shower, so the silicone gets a chance to dry.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.
Common questions in Beenham Stocks
Is Beenham Stocks within the area you cover?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Is Beenham Stocks in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Beenham Stocks is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
Normally after around 24 hours. You will get the exact cure time before we leave.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the product. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little.
Is white the only colour available?
Most people choose white or clear, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes. We strip the bead, treat the joint and lay new anti-fungal silicone.
What sealant do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference.
What happens on the day
Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, do the work and clear up. Most jobs take half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. For a village or hamlet like Beenham Stocks, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Clear the area around the work
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Tell us about any water getting in

Beenham Stocks homes and their sealant
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you let a flat or house near Aldermaston station, a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

Why deal with it now?
Tired sealant is not a reason to replace a bath or shower. A new bead often brings the whole room back. If we find a deeper problem, you’ll hear it from us. Older cottages and farmhouses around Beenham Stocks can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.

How the job changes by surface
Wet rooms
Wet rooms rely on sound joints at floor and wall junctions. They get anti-fungal sanitary silicone, and our work is on the visible joints only.
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. The new bead is colour-matched where it shows.
