Kiddington Bathroom Resealing
Our applicators work in Kiddington on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly.

- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
Surface by surface
Baths
Most bath leaks begin along the long edge, especially under a shower. It gets one smooth bead of anti-fungal silicone.
Basins & vanity units
A vanity top has a joint along the wall and sometimes at the sides. Water that gets behind can damage the unit, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.
Bathroom resealing in Kiddington
Across Kiddington, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: bath edges, tray joints, basin backs and kitchen upstands. Each one is stripped, cleaned and dried before new silicone goes in. If you have sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away and lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Somewhere as small as Kiddington, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, whatever its size.

What we cannot put right
In fairness, some problems need a different trade:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant

FAQs for Kiddington
Do you cover Kiddington for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Kiddington is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job.
Do you cover smaller places like Kiddington?
Yes, Kiddington is covered. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Will there be a smell?
That depends on the sealant. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it normally can’t be cleaned out for good, so we cut it out, treat the joint and reseal with anti-fungal silicone.
Can I do it myself?
Some simple jobs can be done by a careful DIYer. Most DIY failures come from sealing over old material, wet joints or too much sealant.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We’ve worked for hotels, offices and other businesses, and we’re fully insured.
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
It takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. We will confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
Where do you work from?
Mr Mastic is based in Crawley. We cover Kiddington and the rest of Oxfordshire.
What happens on the day
There’s no need to move everything out before we come, just the space around the work. We protect the rest, and the work takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is in most cases. Somewhere as small as Kiddington, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed, including the film left on the tiles.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Mention any parking rules near the property
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints

The quote reflects the job in front of us. We take into account:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Which sealant suits the joint
- How many areas need sealing
- Mould in or behind the old joints
Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You will know the price before we begin.
Asking for a quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
There’s no standard price list, because every job is different. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Kiddington
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Homes close to Church of St Nicholas include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. For landlords with property near Charlbury station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

Why deal with it now?
A failed joint gets more costly to put right the longer it’s left. Once water is behind the bath, it can reach floorboards, panels and the ceiling underneath, turning a small job into a building repair. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Kiddington, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Doing several joints on one visit is generally more efficient than separate visits. We will give you a clear price for the lot.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Use gentle cleaners on the silicone
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Give the silicone its full cure time
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Scourers and blades can nick the surface, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Do not wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Sealant is a maintenance item, like the paint on a window frame, and replacing it when it fails protects the rest of the room.
