Bathroom & kitchen resealing in Hailey, Oxfordshire
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for Hailey, backed by a one-year guarantee. Ask us for a quote.
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Water getting behind the bath panel
Why deal with it now?
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it won’t bond. Water creeps under it and mould follows. Around Hailey, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.

Bathroom resealing in Hailey, done properly
We fill the bath before sealing it. A full bath sits slightly lower than an empty one, so the new joint is not pulled apart the first time it’s used. Quick jobs often leave it out, and it makes a real difference. We’re often asked to deal with mouldy sealant that has gone black and gaps where the bath or tray has moved, on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & upstands.
Somewhere as small as Hailey, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

What else we do in Hailey
What we do, step by step
There isn’t much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The work itself takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. Somewhere like Hailey needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
How to prepare
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Mention any tricky access

Advice
What sealant work cannot fix
New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’ll tell you before work begins. It will not solve:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Sinks & splashbacks
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Wet rooms
What the job involves on each surface
Basins & vanity units
A vanity top has a joint along the wall and sometimes at the sides. If water gets in, the cabinet underneath can swell, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.
Wet rooms
A wet room floor and its walls can move independently, so the corners need a flexible seal, not grout. Cracked grout in a corner can be cut out and replaced with silicone.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
How to look after the new joints
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
Do not stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use keeps water from sitting on the joint.
Watch for the early signs: lifting ends, gaps, dark shadows under the bead or a stain downstairs. Any of these means the joint needs attention.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Hailey
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Managing a site like Hailey Church of England Primary School? Then washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. Homes close to Church of St John the Evangelist include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. Letting a property close to Finstock station? Then mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

Can I do it myself?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, then guaranteed for a year.
Hailey: your questions answered
I let a flat near Finstock station. Can you help?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the details for a clear quote.
Do you cover Hailey for bathroom resealing?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Hailey is part of that. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we’re part of it.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. We reseal worktop upstands, sinks and splashbacks, with a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No. Fresh silicone can’t stick to the old bead, so it peels away and hides mould and water. We always take the old sealant out completely.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Of course. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit.
Is there any odour?
Possibly a little. Any smell clears as the sealant cures, and ventilation helps.
Is white the only colour available?
White and clear are the most common choices, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
